CBR F4i sliders
anybody know where i can buy a cheap frame sliders for my F4i? i know we need to drilla hole in the flaring, any body has any idea how much for the labor to install the frame sliders? saw frame sliders at ebay for $40..
takes a little longer than 15min on an f4i. You have to drill out holes for both sides. but $40 is about right. I paid $50 for my protek delron sliders a year ago
They will charge you anywhere from 100-140 dollars depending on the shop. I got no cut sliders for my GSX-R600 so I didn't have to deal with cutting the fairing.
I think it's worth it to get it professionally done if you don't know what you're doing cause I've seen too many botched cutting jobs that look like *****,

Cutting the holes for your frame sliders is not hard. Besides, once you're done drilling the hole, you won't be left with a big, gaping hole - it'll be filled in with your slider. There are lots of instructions posted around on message boards or elsewhere on the 'net, do a quick search and I'm sure you'll hit something. Or, if you're lazy to look, click this - http://www.zmoe.com/sliders.html
$40-$50 is the average price for sliders. You can install them yourself with a dremel or hole saw for the price of 1-2 hours of your time. There are plenty of write ups on the net. ONe of the most popular will be to use play-doh behind the fairing so that you know where the slider will be and you can accurately drill a hole. Shops will charge you whatever their labor rate is. They will charge you for 1-2 hours even though it may take em 30-45 mins. The shops here in san diego varied between $70-$110.
dont use a dremel unless you want an odd looking hole. I used a dremel and one side came out like total ***. I'd rather spend the 10bux or so and get a hole saw. Also if a shop is gonna charge upwards of $70+ do it yourself. It really isnt hard at all.

You don't buy frame sliders to protect your exhaust. Its to protect case covers and some of the bodywork. You ain't getting home if you bust a case cover.
If your worried about the exhaust, buy a 600rr or new r1!

one side is longer so that they both stick out evenly on both sides. You dont want one slider sticking out half an inch and the other side sticking out 1"..just would not look clean.
