Valve Adjusment specs for a D16?
Got 96k on the Odometer and the valvetrain is making the common sewing machine noise.
Got the tools just need the specs....cannot find a Helms manual in my area so gonna order online but want to do the adjustment tonight.
What are the specs for a 97 EX?

Adjust valve lash to the spec below for d16z6:
intake: 0.18-0.22 mm (0.007-0.009 in)
exhaust: 0.23-0.27 mm (0.009-0.011 in)
Double check your clearances and verify. Good luck

OH, I know mine does.....gas mileage is 20 on a good day and it sounds like a sewing machine factory under the hood.
Gonna measure what they are before I adjust too....curious how far off they got

so valve adjustment being out of spec can cause bad gas mileage? I know my valves are clicking but it hasn't been too bad (and I haven't had the tools or the time to adjust them, but that will be taken care of soon). But yeah, my gas mileage is at about 24 with a lot of highway driving, so something's wrong...
Spade: if you are using a standard feeler guage...Make ABSOLUTE Certain that the guage is flat, and flush. if your hand is a little unsteady, you can be WAY off
Yes it is a Snap-on tool, the part number is YA8895 and they are $45.50.
They have two sizes, one for 10mm jam nut valve screws and one for 12mm. You want the 10mm
Here is a link to the part on the website:

Well, me and the misses did the finances and I cannot do this until next weekend
Damn.
I was assuming that there was only one type of feeler guage.....do they make special ones that I could buy? I will be able to get all the tools next weekend.
