Default Went to the Dyno

Today I went up to Powerzone Performance in Charleston along with a few friends and RandD Motorsports and we dynoed a few cars. My car was last and then a guy with a Super Charged Cavilier wanted to make a few runs.

Needless to say...it was fun. I was very impressed with my car's numbers.

Setup:

d16z6 with CX tranny
short ram intake with APC filter
Pace Setter Header 4-2-1
b16 TB
b16 Injectors
Stock CX piping
BOMZ GT spec muffler (sounds almost identical to the BuddyClub spec II on the b20 hatch IMO. In the dyno room anyways )

I also have 14" Steelies with Azenies. HEAVY
Im sure if I had some CE-28n's with a different tyre I'd have a little more WHP

oh yeah...the motor has about 165K miles on it!

Here is the graph.

If anyone wants me too, I'll post a bigger version so you can see the graph more clearly.

Maybe if I ran open header I could hit 120 HP.
I was making 118 horsepower on a deathly lean condition so we backed off the timing and now my motor isnt going to blow up.

I also took some pictures with the camera phone....not so hot quallity but you know how that goes.

5 hatchbacks...yes..5 of them. Mine is all on the left.

b20 VTEC

b20VTEC hatch

I think this is the B16 hatch I made 3 more lb/ft of torque than. (woo hoo 3 lb/ft big doo doo)

My hatch

"He has an AEM intake TOOOO you IDIOT!!!"

Heres a Cavileir. He made about 170 or something spinng wheels on the dyno I think. Auto and supercharged.

We ate lunch at Taco Bell and the hotel right beside us had about 20-40 of these!!!!!

Comments Welcome!

Nice numbers!

I dyno'd my 93 del sol Si this weekend and don't know how the hell to read the results. It recorded 88.1 horsepower and 250 foot pounds. I know that it must be uncorrected or something but I'm not sure what to do to the numbers to correct it. I'll try and post a thread on it after I scan it in tomorrow morning...

uhhhh.... I really have a feeling that is wrong. According to that, you made max hp at 1850 rpm....

I am happier with my setup seeing as how I dynoed with as much hp as a supercharged cavalier while NA

Am I going to be the first to ask why you put in B16 injectors? B16 and D16Z6 injectors are both 240cc's... so its not worth anything to change them.

> b16 having lower torque :

Man, I remember having my CX tranny on my old d16z6...it was NOT fun to drive at ALL. You go from VTEC, shift, and the damn tranny drops you at idle.

haha yeah...not very fun because I have to do 82mph to redline in 2nd

JDM b16 injectors flow better at higher RPM...b16 redlines at 8200 RPM...d16 at 7200.
plus its JDM y0!

They were very cheap too...thanks to b18c1_powered_si (brian)

Wow, old thread. I was just thinking of what I could do to get more power.
Please dont say anything like nitrous.

Are there any other ways to make power, other than what I already have listed?
I do have a VAFC now, that needs adjusted.
