i have 10K miles on my R.. this just started blinking the other day.. right after i fire it up, it blinks 10 times then goes away... i need to hold that green right of the steering column correct?

my question is why did this come on? is there a service i should be doing at 10K, this flashing light serves as a friendly reminder? i plan on doing a valve adjustment at 15 along with checking everything else and changing all the fluids that need to be changed.

If you look in your owners manual it tells you how to turn it off.

 

i never acknowledge the light..i just turn it off. What's the regular procedure anyways? when the light comes on..I dont have a manual so i dont know. And yeah just hold the button for a couple of seconds.

I believe its something under the dash that you press until the light goes off. Not sure though. I cant remember from when i had my integra

 

I don't think there is any scheduled maintenance to do at 10k. I know there is one for 15k.

 

i know Yoshi put i diagram of it up, but i'm too lazy to search for it.

thanks gavin and goch.. i already know how to turn it off.. i'm just wondering why did it come on.. right when i got this car and started reading the forums i was told it would come on at like 3K miles.. some said 6K etc.. etc.. mine never came on so i thought it was fugged up something and i didnt really pay any attention to it.. it finally came on on caught me by surprise lol!

on my mom's 98 civic.. that thing always came on before every oilchange or major service that is scheduled in the books..
anyone have any more info on this light besides the manual that tells you how to turn it off.. i.e. when is this light scheduled to come on, or is it just when you hit a random number of miles.

 

i think it's 7500 miles then it goes,

blink blink blink 10x

 

Sorry to go off topic, but when I first read your topis header, I thought it said blinker light maint required. As in turn signal light maintenance. Don't forget to change the blinker fluid.

It comes on at certain intervals. 7500, 15000,22500, 30000 etc etc

 

Shiet.. thats one thing i pay attention the most.. when ever i'm at a gas station or changing oil, working on my car, i always make sure i top off my blinker fluid.. keep it nice and full so i get my blinkers to blink so fresh and so clean 24/7 lol!

 

mine came on around 7500 as indicated.
