Default rotors and brakes- what to buy?

I have a 94 lx 4dr. My rotors a warped and i was wondering what to replace them with. many say the AEM big rotor kit fro 500. But others say that it is a waste of money and just as much preformance can be attained from the smaller brembo or powerstop rotors. Also if you get a flat you can't put on a spare with the AEM big rotor kit.
Another subtopic with much debate is cross drilled, groved, or both. Some say that the x drilled crack. What is best.
Finnaly, breaks- EBC, Everlast, baer, i have no clue. I don't get much track time but when I am touring through the hills the pads somtimes get glazed and loose traction with the stock brake pads. i guess i need semi preformance. What is best.
Price is not a constraint.
Thanks for any comments you can leave. Also websites pictures, and prices are greatly appreciated.

get in touch with Steve Colletti at collettimotorsports.com and have him send you Brembo blanks, best rotors at the best price. There is really no need for slotted or cross drilled, if you are hard on your brakes like racing the slots and holes will fill up with rotor wear and brake slag.
Your pads are what truly stop you. Read through this thread about pads and you will get the best viewpoint on brakes you can ever here. The fella named carbotechandie makes racing/street pads for a living. I would suggest these Carbotech Panthers, I run the panther plus on the track with Autozone $40 rotors and they are unbelievable. I have never heard a good thing about EBC brakes. Hope this helps.

check out the other thread here in Accord on brake upgrades for 5G Accords... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=80004

i guarantee you that it's quite likely that you'll warp a set of x-drilled rotor too... plus x-drilled rotors really don't improve any performance characteristics on our cars... all they do is look cool...

I already read that thread.
"I have figured out that the 11" brakes from the Accord wagon will bolt on the Accord 4 cyl knuckles. This will give you an 11" brake vs the 10.3" . While not a huge increase in size, it will make a noticeable difference in stopping power. "

if an increase in area will give me greater stopping power then why would I not just but the AEM big rotor kit. I don't want to change my stock parts for other stock parts i want preforms the best. Price is not an issue. Please help.

your not getting the point I think, fancy looking rotors with holes and slots serve no real extra performance purpose. Yes the bigger the better but the 11" wagon rotors are better than AEM's in a practical sense. remeber with bigger rotors you need to get bigger calipers. Same calipers means all you did was put a bigger, heavier rotor on your car.
IF you want true performance then look at the pads, that is what stops you. Also upgrade your brake fluid to super blue or other high temp fluid, this also makes a big difference.

You don't want the AEM big brake kit because it is crap, OEM parts are not.
If your current brakes can lock your wheels, then upgrading your brakes won't make you stop any faster. So, the big Accord wagon rotors and calipers won't make your stopping distances any shorter (because you're limited by the tire's traction, not shear braking power), but the advantage would be greater heat dissipation and corresponding fade resistance.
Oh, also with bigger pads your swept area per ton ratio goes up so your brakes don't have to work as hard to slow the car down, resulting in less heat buildup. All good stuff.
Accord's brakes are fine for the street, but they're severely under-braked for road circuits.

OK sounds like i need to get three items;
1. Brembo blanks - but what size? Wagon or my ride?
2. Carbotech Panthers - Are these the best pads?
3. super blue or other high temp fluid - where tp buy?

Thanks for the info i definatly want proformance not sho.
I just don't understad that if x drilled and slotted to so little then why are the so common? Just becase people like the looks? Porsche, acompany devoted to proformace use x drilled?
Thanks again for bearing with me.

they dissapate heat better but do not hold up as well in race conditions. They are fine for street driving, but not for track. Your setup sounds good. I don't know to much about the wagon conversion but can tell you that with my carbotechs the car has unbeleivable stop with no fade in the pedal. Any local performance shop should sell the fluid but it is sold on the net. Talk to Andie at carbotech(very, very helpful) for more info on the pads. He may work for Carbotech but will help you find what suits your driving style and use the best. Good luck and let us know if you need any more help.

1) You'll need rotors in your size unless you do the Accord wagon brake conversion.
2) The Carbotech Panther Plus is a truly awesome pad. They are somewhat rotor aggressive though, so most people only run them on the track. IMO the OEM pads are best for daily use, just swap in the Carbotechs on race day. http://www.carbotecheng.com/main.htm Andie Lin, carbotechandie, the marketing and product r&d VP of Carbotech is on this board. He frequents the competition forum and he's real cool and knowledgeable.
3) ATE Super Blue, Motul, or Ford HD brake fluid are good. Better auto parts stores should carry ATE or Motul. You might also be able to get ATE at a BMW dealer. You can get Motul online at http://www.nipponpower.com/fluids/motul.html.

Oh and the exotic cars use cross-drilled rotors that are designed to have holes in them. I think they might even be cast with the holes. Cross-drilled rotors most likely do work better in terms of heat dissipation, but for cars like ours they can break because they are regular rotors that have been weakened by the cross drilling. Slots are pretty worthless.

i think they are used to vent the hot gas that brakes create sometimes

Dave, did you change your rotors?

Oh yeah I will definately be at Summit for the NASA HPDS Nov 3-4 just to hang out. I might even work one day to get a discount on the next NASA event. The next event I'll be doing is Speed Trial at VIR Dec 8-9. I trust you'll be doing that too? Are you doing anything else before then?

Order your Brembo blanks from http://www.collettimotorsports.com/. Great bunch of guys and great prices.
As for the rust, find a good body shop and see if they can trace the source of it and fix it.
Mine's looking pretty bad (2 or 3 square inches of rust on passenger side rear wheel well were it meets the bumper), and after I get it fixed I'm going to make sure it never happens again.
