Static timing with afc hack
where should I set my stock timing for the afc hack (at the dizzy i mean)? I wont be using an msd 6btm just straight up injectors and afc to -40%. 10psi will be the max I ever boost, normaly it will be 6psi

So I should set the timing at 12* btdc.
How about if I use an FMU setup? This is for a friend whos finishing his ghetto turbo as weel but not using the afc hack

Re: (jetpilot)
AFC hack advances timing at WOT NA and at low boost. You ideally want to retard your timing 2-3 degrees (listen/read plugs/etc for knock) and run as much as the Honda MAP sensor can handle. Setting boost levels at 8-9.25 psi OBD0 and 8-10.65 psi OBD1+ will keep you from operating for extended periods of time (95% of your boosting) in the areas of high ignition advance. I also do not recommend an MSD or a BTM for an AFC hack - MSD is useless until you appraoch 400 whp, and a BTM does nothing to correct the ignition timing problem associated with AFC hacks.
As far as FMU, since they aren't dependable in high ratio/small injector setups past, say, 6 psi I wouldn't bother with a BTM. Your friend needs to step up to something else entirely if he wants more power.

Re: (J. Davis)
I know for a fact the btm DOES take out timing under boost while using the afc hack....How much timing, well lets just say I dont think they are to accurate...
I use one for running 13-14 psi on pump gas w/ no problems...Not saying its the best way to tune, but the btm does indeed take timing out when you use it with the afc..
