Well, the P&P'd D15B7 head is on... It also has a ported t/b, GUDE street cam, 5angle valve job, and cam gear. Once my break-in mileage period is over.. I'll have it dyno tuned and post up some numbers and video. I'm still waiting for my ECU to take advantage of the cams ability, but for now... there is a nice bump at 3500rpm... I don't want to rev it too high until the valves settle in. But it does sound like a Prelude on steroids.

I just like trying stuff that most people won't do... I'm really wanting to see what the dyno graph curves shows.

I had it done at South Florida Performance for $800... Stage 3 P&P, 5angle valve job, new valves, retainers and locks. The GUDE cam ran me $260 from ARD performance, but GUDE I think is having a birthday sale, and they knocked off about $80-$100 on their products.

I have a spare ECU coming, once it gets in... I can send that one in as a core. I will get the ECU as well.

Dyno it..........
if you get 118 whp/135 crank hp or less, I can tell you how to do it cheaper.

Just I/H/E and a CRX Si cam.

Wait for the long rod version and 8500 rpm limit. Notice I was still making power when 6800 rpm limiter kicked it. Might have got 120 on a good day

Everything looked reall promising since I bought the car 3yrs ago... with I/H/E combo, it got me 101.1 hp and 95.2 ft lbs also making power til the rev limiter kicked in... The CRX si cam is a great idea... I've read about it getting done in a book that I have, but since the head was ported, I needed a funkier lobe on the cam to get it to breath right as the rpm's go up. I'm just happy that it's on... I do notice a little bit of lag below 2500rpm but it's nothing that concerns me since I do 4000rpm launches off the line at the track.

Just a hint for those doing the D-series build-ups.... the valve springs are good for revs upto 8400rpm... If you go with stiffer springs, you will get premature wear on a GUDE and factory cam due to the newer springs increase the lift pressure.

The power in the D series is there...I'm glad that someone is finally trying to get it out of those motors.

There is a guy locally who has a D16a6 that makes 135 at the wheels. He had a race motor builder build it for him. That thing pulls like a madman and will give my R a run for its money.

A couple of questions for my d series guys:
I have d15b7 I think(not sure if it's 7 or8)
anyways I am building an ls/vtec right now and I might change up later on down the road to my stock d15 but only turbo the **** out of it.
1. What kind of mildly reliable power can I produce with a built d15 and turbo?
2. How strong are the internals, stock
3. Is it really expensive to make a lot of power out of one?

I'm not really a d series person, but if I can build a mid-13 sec turbo d, then that would kick ***.

Alright........im interested in doing a SOHC swap into a hatch possibly.........so what about stroking the motor? I know that Bisi has one in his 11 second all motor car.....i'd imagine that the streetable version of that motor would run pretty well......anyone doing/done/heard of this?
