CEL but no Code, No VTEC
Whats up--
Today I washed my car and specifically the engine bay, covered up the important stuff of course. Afterwords, I went to fire it up and immediatley got a CEL. I tried to jump the connector and check the code, but all that would happen was my CEL would stay ON. I don't understand...
I am not getting VTEC, and I can still take the RPMS up high like usual.
My girlfriend lives about 2 hours away and after I drive to her house, by the time I get there my car hesitates and sometimes throws a CEL. I have tried to check it and have had the same problem as stated above- the CEL just stays on and doesn't blink. I think that this is an O2 sensor problem, not related to today's CEL.
Setup is 91 accord EX, JDM h22, h23 tranny, p13 ECU (unmodified), N2 header, stock accord exhaust.
What do you guys think? VTEC solenoid? Why am I not able to pull codes? I also tried to reset the ECU by pulling the ECU and Back Up fuses for 20 minutes, the CEL came back on immediatley.

Sounds like either vtec solenoid or possible the oil pressure sending unit....usually dictates vtec engagement. GL bro
I would say that it either got "fried" or interupted if it sometimes throws a cel. I would see what happens after it all "dries out" .

No clue...I would just say when you get that code, be sure to get it...otherwise its a crap shoot
. But I would just check the vtec solenoid and oil pressure sending unit and go from there.

well, I just checked it and was able to pull the code.. My jumper connector wasn't working from the front side, so I stuck it in the back side...
kinda like my gf
anyway, it is code 6-water temperature sensor
and of course it just started raining on my freshly washed car
