Very difficult decision to make...
I have 9500$ (canadian) to buy a car.. and I'm having a tough time pick between two of them... either a EG or an EK.. the ek would cost me all teh money I have but it would be a much newer car and would have much less milage on it (Nicer body shape, In my opinion). The EG would be a lot cheaper , but then I'll have a little more worries about buying a lemon, but I'd have money imediatly for the b16 swap I'd want to do...
Any opinions on this?

i would go with a EG6.....lightest car since its a hatchback and drop a B16A or B18C and your set. then save up for a turbo and waste the base mustangs.

If you want to be fast, then I think you answered your own question..hybrid hatch.

If its going to be your daily driver and you wont have time for down time for the swap then I would go with the ek. Now if you have other transportation and can afford some down time eg all the way.

a decision to make...
go with practicality...
ek's(basic bolt-on's, ctr parts etc.) are not bad, just not as much mod's as the eg6's(everything from 94-01 integra, basic bolt-on's etc.). Don't get me wrong they're both great chassis. you work hard for your money so why not get the most for your dollar. we all know pro's and con's on used cars compare to a newer car. the best thing i can say is that go with what you can see yourself in three years from now and do your homework on both ek and eg6 before you make any decisions
good luck

I currently have a EG and it does me well... The motor blew the first week i bought it last year(114k miles)... Keep in mind i was beating the crap outta the damn thing... Just about everything u can name of from a 94-01 Integra would fit right in... So my vote would be EG... Like the other's have said, EK for looks and EG for performance... If u plan on doing a swap for the EK later on, it doesnt hurt to think twice about it... I do personally like working on the EG due to easy access to suspension (EK is a pain in the butt when working on the rear shocks when u only have hand tools)...
ITR 2K is partnering up with me to build a EK9 soon... If i have the money after i finish with my two project cars and when i get a bike... Maybe after i get my dream car ohhhhhh Audi S4...

Re: a decision to make... (HybridHatch128)
i had the same problem about five months ago, and about the same ammount of money (USD). I went with eg for the same reasons as the others have stated, I got the car for $2000 and spent the rest on the buildup.
I originally wanted an EK for the same reasons, newer car, two airbags, less mileage, blah blah. But when it comes down to it, speed was the deciding factor. Either I have a newer car that's slow, or a slightly older one that's quick.
One other option I was considering was finding a used EK at a dealership where I could finance part of it and then only shell out the same ammount of money initially. But EKs are so damn hard to come by, and I like having no monthly payments.
