B&M Short shifter - position & rattle
I've searched through the posts here, but can't find a definitive answer...
I recently bought a 1997 Civic DX Coupe, and it's got the B&M short shifter installed. It's a little far forward for me, and it has the rattling that so many others have complained about. What part do I buy to adjust the position of the shifter farther back, and has anyone successfully eliminated the rattling??
Thanks in advance...

the rattling isnt the shifter itself, Its probably the shift linkage. Im sure the shifter is bolted tight to the subframe make sure that it is. Also, check and make sure that the shift linkage is tight on the tranny and bolted properly to the subframe.
Your shifter is most likely hitting your exhaust. When you hear the rattle pullup on your shifter(like you want to pull it out of the floor) and see if it stops.
B&M makes a adjustable metal bushing that will let you adjust where the shifter sits. Im checking on it.

I have a friend with these metal bushings in his rex and it makes shifting as rock solid as it gets.

Funnny I just solved the rattle problem today. I have the metal B&M shift kit also. I got a few very small zip ties and wedged them into the hole that the shifter lays in. Seems to have worked.
To adjust the position of the shifter loosen the round metal bushing and rotate it till it sits where you want.
