drivers side motor mount broke
I was driving around the block at around 15mph(to test new brake booster). I started to turn onto the next street and I heard a loud bang and then loud thumping. I immediately turned off the car and stopped. I open up the hood to take a peek and saw the drivers side motor mount torn from the block. I wasn't able to start the car back up (dead battery, long story), so I had to push the car back to my house. I'll take some pics tomorrow; its dark and raining now. Here is a pic of the mount before it broke. If the mount is torn from the block, is it easy to fix?
your going to need to take a pic of where it tore...
did it tear on a mount that BOLTS to the block or where it actually bolts to the block, ie bolt holes....
if its actually block damage, its going to suck big time....keep us informed. Were you missing any other mounts or something?

The actually mount look fine, its the bolt holes that look torn. Not sure if I'm missing any other mounts. The shop that put in the engine might have neglected a few

How long have you had the swap? If it hasn't been too long I'd be on the phone with them as soon as I could (probably Monday morning). Dood, that really sux.

From the pics it looks like the bolts holding the mount to the block tore the threads out of the block.
You need to pull the timing belt cover off and see what the damage is.
If the threads just came out, you can probably repair it with a helicoil.
If a chunk of the block is missing too, you might be looking at replacing the bottom end.

Looks like you'll be buying another block bro.
At the very least you'll be looking at pulling the engine, sending it to a good welder to weld up those chunks that are torn from the block, and then having the welded portions tapped for the bolts to go in them.
All of this would require a large amount of trust in guys with torches and drills.
IMO if you don't already have a 1.8L block, now's the perfect excuse to up the cc and make the car better than before.

i took of the timing belt cover. Looks like one of the bolts snapped, the bottom one was pulled(stripped?) out. I don't see a third bolt, not sure if there ever was one. I'm going to take off the mount and see if i can find some replacement bolts. Anyone know what size they are?

The block is a b16a (jdm). It might be salvageable. It just need to figure out how to get that broken bolt out. Also, the bottom bolt hole is complete stripped. I might be able to get away with using just the top botlts foor the mount and getting an a/c mount. The driver side mount itself is messed up and will need to be replaced. Also, the axle was pulled out of the cv joint and will need to be replaced(pep boys warrantly =p)
damn, your lucky.. My mount was ripped out and now I have to get the actual mount holes enlarge..
I'll get pics later, but visualize that the factory bolt is a 12x1.25.. I have to get the hole enlarged to accomidate the new 12x1.75! i hope my block doesn't have to get replaced.. I'm broke

Damn, I know how bad that sucks. I was racing a V6 accord one day and when I came up on traffic and had to stop, the car started knocking. The block was sitting on the axle... damn it.
So I got it fixed, and then I was just going over some rail road tracks and the car just stalled. I pushed it across the road, popped the hood, sitting on the axle once again... damn it.
So I had to have metal welded on, the holes redrilled, and now I house 1/2 in. bolts and have been for the past months. Runs like a champ now
Good luck man.

ouch...i can't see your pics, but if your missing that drivers side torque mount then thats probably the reason. I had removed that mount when taking out my ac because I thought I didn't need it. I drove around without it for about a day and it resulted in a dent in my hood from the valve cover hitting it and I believe its also what caused my drivers side motor mount to need to be replaced
. Bottom line...you gotta have that lower torque mount.

So which mounts do i need to get? The drivers side mount(the cylinderical thingy) is broken. I assume i need to get a 93 civic one? What about the a/c or torque mount(same thing)? Do i get one off an integra or civic?
you need an a/c mount off of either a 94-97 del sol b16, 99-00 si or a 94-00 integra, it depends on whether or not you want to run a/c. If you're not running a/c then any of those mounts will work for you, if you want a/c use one of the del sol b16 or si b16 mounts. Yes, the a/c and torque mounts are the same thing. For the upper engine mount just get one off of a 94-00 integra.
you need the del sol ac bracket to be able to use the lower torque mount on a EH2.......
so list of what you need..
del sol ac bracket
civic torque mount (www.jimfab.com) way cheap as hell
GSR Driver side mount (extra beefy)

For the motor mount, do I just need the insert? the actual mount seems fine, just all the foam stuff inside seems all torn up and allows the mount to move.
for a/c mount(i'm not running a/c), what number is it off here
I don't think I have a tranny mount either. Is it listed in that picture?
