Car Dying After It Reaches Nromal Temp. *HELP*
There is something weird going on with my car all of a sudden . . . .
I took out my z6 motor, and swapped the block out for a y8 block that my friend had with lower mileage. He took the block apart, cleaned the pistons, checked the crank journals, checked the bearings, cylinder walls, honed the cylinders, and slapped everything back together and sent it to me.
We just finished the install the other day and are now having some issues. It has been about a month since my car has been started up.
Setup:
D16z6 Head (from old motor)
D16y8 block
my old motor ran excellent even after being boosted at 10-12psi it still checked out fine as can be, but after starting the car lastnight it idled really weird. We didn't think anything much of it until the car died out.
As soon as the car hits normal operating temperature it just automatically dies out like the ECU is telling it to shut off for some strange reason. It was throwing a CEL # 14 for a little while which is the IACV, but I disconnected thatm cleaned it, reset the ecu and un plugged all the sensors, and fired up the car and the CEL went away, but the car still dies out after it warms up.
What could be the cause of this problem? I got 2 weeks to get my car working again, so someone please help me! If you need more info just ask away . . . . any info that can help is greatly apprecaited;

someone on HMT mentioned he had the same problem and it was becuase he mixed up his vacuum lines, and another guy said it sounds like I have a short in a wire . . . so pull off the plug and check the wires.
Should I do any of that?

I want tos tart with the more simple soulutions becuase I know that when I had my old z6 motor in my car a couple weeks ago everything was working fine, so I just kind of find it hard to believe that my IACV would go bad from taking the head off the z6 and putting it on a y8
