my car hits vtec at 35 mph to 40 mpn in 1st gear</TD></TR></TABLE>
what? vtec at 35mph? I think your confused, 1st gear should run you to about 40. If it kicks on at 35mph your at about 6700-6800 rpms, somthings wrong with your motor.

but i am still happy went from a 16.5 to a 15.7
plus i am about to burn a chip for it
i added about +1% timing and took out -1% of the fuel
should lean it up a bit for little more power
and i am setting the vtec at 4100 rpm
i m going to run 93oct.

my v-tec kicks in at about 5100 or so on my d16z6
another thing, is there a rev limiter or fuel cut off on this motor with stock computer?

well, i have accidentally reved almost near 8000, which is also y i broke rod bearings. but i dunno if its really 8000 cuz stock tachs tend to be off, so i was wondering if my stock tach is off and if the cut off is at 7200... my friend has a y8, and his redline is 6900, and rev limiter is at like 7000 or 7100, this is y im unsure.

yea 4000 would be a prayer to hit vtec that early, its 5200 on most applications and then when you add the hondata or apexi vafc, that is when you can adjust to about 4600.

the y8 has fuel cut earlier than a z6, and yes the tachs can be off anywhere from 200 to maybe over 300 rpms from what ive heard.

someone told me that honda purposely made the tachs wrong on their cars so people wouldnt push th limits off the cars to much.
if it was off that much think about it, when u are idling at what appears to be 600-700 rpms (stock z6 = 670 +/- 50) it would really be 300 - 400. the car cant idle at that rpm. it would sputter and die.
