My buddy went to the Honda Dealership, and the mechanics told him he needs a new F.I.T.V. (Fast Idle Thermo Valve) what is this and what does it do? are they expensive and where can we get one?

 

makes it idle higher when cold.

it doesnt hurt to not have it. jus idles "rough" when cold. not even that rough in my mind.

i completely bypassed mine and i have no problems.

alotta people bypass em.

Take the cover off the valve and make sure the screw in there is tight. I have seen several cars that have a rough idle caused by that loose screw.
