Default Skunk2 intake manifold

I am going to get a skunk2 manifold next spring. Anyone have any experience with these? Also, what size throttle body do you reccomend? I was thinking that 70mm was too big, and 66mm too small, so i was going to go with 68mm.

My plan was get the manifold, a throttle body, FPR, and a 4-1 header. I already have an intake, exhaust and cam gears. I dont want to get cams, only because of the miles on the motor. I was going to run this possible set-up for maybe a year, and they decide what to do, possible get a new motor, or rebuild. And when i get the new motor or rebuild it, i would get some cams, but that is pretty far off.

Hell yeah even 66mm is too big for street use.
Lets say you come up on a stock Type-R throttle body (62mm) and then you upgrade or even port out the ITR TB to 66/68mm....it wont' have any differnt effect than it did when it was in its stock form of 62mm. Especially if you daily drive on it. The reason why is, if your head is stock and unported....you CAN'T force more air into the cylinder than what the stock, unported head is allowing.

You'd only notice gains if your car was a straight up race car like ERICK's Racing race car for instance - drag only.

If you didn't know this either...
The SPOON 70mm TB is not 70mm all the way through. It's a stock ITR TB which tapers 62mm from the butterfly out 70mm. So it's not really worth to pay around $400-500 for that damn thing. Why does Spoon do that? because it increases velocity (a shooting effect) which is a good thing for a naturally aspirated engine setup.

You didn't say which head you were planning on slapping a Skunky manifold on, but, the Skunk2 intake for GSR/P72 head is a waay nice upgrade. If you can get a stock GSR, LS , or B16 TB ported to 62-63mm , that would go well with the Skunk manifold along with a set of ITR or CTR cams.

If you're planning on getting a Skunky manifold for a B16A head...I suggest you just go with an OEM ITR intake manifold.

.....good luck.

PS: If you need some info on how to install a Skunk manifold on a GSR/P72 head, check out this page of mine...
http://tiiite.b16a.com/sk2intake.htm

I still need to finish up the page, but it should help you out in the meantime...

I am going to put it on my stock GSR head, P72. I am not sure if i want to port my TB, i probably would just a new one. If i am going to buy one, you would reccomend getting a stock ITR? oh, i know this is going to change the sound probably a lot, but would a bigger TB, lets say a 66mm, change the sound even more?

why buy a brand new one? Do you know how much those things are!?? close to $400-500!
Unless you're some kinda rich boi , I understand, but most people would either port the TB they currently have or buy a used one & have that ported.
Um..I have no comment about "the sound" a ported TB makes.

(bah!..I think I just wasted my breath with you...)

They're pretty cool, although I've never personally used one.

64 mm is ideal, 66mm should be your max for your application.
i think that would have the best flow of air

I'm not Jason, but I do have a RC t-body. I can say this, they really do a good job opening it up and making sure it seals properly. 10x better than my Gude unit, and 100x better than the JG crap I had years ago.

Highly recommended, unless you got the $$ for an Ericks t-body
