Ok this is starting to **** me off. I posted before about 2 codes i was throwing (15 and 21) and that was the cause of my bogging before VTEC. So i reset my ecu and there was no codes when i checked it (Note: i never actually threw a CEL but there was codes there when i thought something was wrong.)

Even though i resetted the ecu and there was no codes the car would still bog. It would rev to the rev limitor but making no power and stuggling to get up there (only did that once was to afraid to do it again).

I ended up installing a VTEC light like this one http://home.earthlink.net/~civ....html to see if it was working. And the light never turned on and the car still bogs. So is this my ecu (JDM P72) or is my VTEC Solenoid going out? Also now that i checked for codes (never got a CEL) i get 21 again. WTF is going on?!?! TIA

Bogging while cruising can be a sign of 02 sensor. Bogging while heavy acceleration can be fuel pump. Thats all I can think of right now.

 

code 21 still.... try to swap out the vtec assmebly.
no vtec = no oil pressure or oil pressure switch could be bad.

How much does the assembly usually run?

 

im thinking oil pressure too

3 things for v tec:
1) Throttle
2) Oil pressure
3) proper temperature

 

I dont think its a oil presure problem because theres no code for oil pressure only 21 (VTEC solienod spool valve). I had a oil pressure problem when i first had the car but it had a code for that. My code right now i have to dig up theres no CEL. I am way to ******* confused.

try to swap out the ecu if you can
p28 will work, but you will not have secondary

 

aren't the jdm ecu's different ? something with the oil pressure switch. i remember hearing something about it but im not sure. i would try a usdm ecu and see what happens..

 

Would i be ok running a P28 ecu with my stock IM? I thought i needed those secondaries. Is anyone in So. Cal area that has a stock P72 i could try for a min to see if thats the case?

 

you lose the mid range the the redline will be lower, but want to check if your ecu is bad or not right?

 

you'll be fine using a p28, i used one for a few weeks until i got the p72.

If its not the ecu then it might be the assembly? Could it be the VTEC solienod? and just switch that out? What comes in the assembly? Thanks for the help so far.

did you have the car warm up to temp? cause vtec need to build up oil pressure for it to operate properly.

 

Yea the car was up to good operating temp, theres plenty of oil in the car. There is a oil leak though at the cam seal right next to the VTEC Solenoid, which at first i thought might be causing the problem because no oil goes to the solenoid. 2lua thanks alot for all the help so far.
