Default H series to B series Adapter plate .....Has began.....

I have started on the H series to B series adapter plate. Last night I got the whole templet done. Im going to machine the plate out with a alum sheet at work. I have some pictures of the templet. I will post them on here later.

As for people asking questions about the starter not lining up or the input shaft not going in far enough. They all work. Everything should be done and togethere by mid next week....

I'd buy one depending on price.

Only reason I didn't put a H22 in my EF was the mounts but if this would require me to just get a new drivers side mount, and I could still use my cable B series tranny...I'd hit it up for sure.

i'd think about that a little more. you could really make a good bit of $$$ from that. i know the only think that kept me from going h22 was the damn tranny. plus i bet most everybody with the h22 in already would jump on it.

the way that im designing the plate is you can use your Hasport mounts. I have all 3 of my mounts on the motor and they seem to be all lining up perfect so far. I will not know for sure until the motor is in the car.

I will be able to use my 90-93 axles, midshaft, hasport mounts, linkage and most important use my LSD cable tranny

That thread you posted is locked.
Does this mean that your adaptor plate project is locked down too?

what are you going to do about the clutch? the input shaft wont sldie into the clutch and flywheel the same anymore. due to the thickness of the adapter plate. just something to think about.

Run a custom thicker flywheeel to make up for the gap added by the adapter plate...

If you use the factory B series tranny mount and build the other mounts around that you will be able to run the stock B series shift linkage...

Something to consider though, the H motor sits further back, more upright than the B motor does so the plate may have to have offset holes drilled to compensate for the mis aligned H block and B tranny bolt holes. If you just slap the 2 together with out proper clocking or degreeing of the 2 you may run into axle alignment issues...

As for intermediate shaft... You can fab a new block mount plate on the B series shaft to bolt to the H block... This will enable you to use stock B axles granted that everything is in line in terms of positioning...

I looked into this a while back but kinda ditched the idea with hopes that companies such as HASport, HCP and others of the like would take it a step further... i know RS has a plate that they are working on but not to sure if its 100% ready to go yet. I know Mike is a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like that and I know that he wont put anything out there that is less than perfect...

This is great. The H was my dream swap when I first got into Hondas, until I learned about the problems caused by the extreme axle angles involved.

An easier and cheaper way to go would be to make a flywheel spacer. This would consis simply of a metal disk of the same thickness as the adaptor plate bolted between the flywheel and the end of the crank. Longer bolts would be required, of course.

how can I buy one? I am buying anh22 swap, but I want to use my b16 tranny because the shorter gear ratio's combined with the power of the h22 will make it an insane ride.
