Hey, is the UDM EP3 the Si? Did it come with an airbag equipped three-spoke steering wheel. Need one for my EK3 and the EP3 supposed to fit. Anyone have one left over and willing to ship item to Germany?

If not, anyone know a dealer that will ship UDM items abroad? Help would be appreaciated

I have read topics here which suggest that the EP3 steering wheel (which is the same wheel as what you get on the Civic Type R, except our H badge is not red) will not fit.

 

I know a guy who put an EP3 (30th anniversary) steering wheel on a ej9. Says was no problem, all connectors the same. i don't like the red badge though. would prefer normal looking steering wheel. that's why i thought the UDM Si might be a try.

haha wow, and us USDM guys are trying our damndest to get a red badged EDM or JDM wheel. :D

 

well, i could get a red badge type ep3 steering wheel just in case you need one. :-) But prices over here are steep and I doubt considering the present conversion rate you'd be willing to spend that type of money ...

Did the EP1, 2 come with a three-spoked-srs-wheel or only the Si?

Oh, and of course I am still talking about the STEERING wheel. Sorry to re-edit this post but I am limited to 5 posts per 24h period. What kind of platform is this. Why is it so restricted. That is quite bothersome and hampering my attempts to come across a nice three spoke steering wheel.

Loaded question. The 02-03 USDM Si has 4x100 wheels, the 04 Si has five lugs, and can take the CTR wheels.

now the official reply to the wheel issue. When will the trial membership drop?

Anyway, I was still talking about the steering wheel. If the 2002 Si/ctr steering wheels are interchangeable and the ctr steering wheel fits the ej9 the si should fit as well.

Then one question remains. Where do I get a three spoke si steering wheel? As long as I am a "trial user" i can't even request one here. Are there any other platforms anyone knows of?

I have the 2002 USDM Si wheel in my 99 EX Coupe. Everything hooks up with a little rewiring for the Cruise control. But I cannot hook up the airbag. The connections are different. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks. Other than that the wheels are interchangeable as far as I know.

I have a JDM RSX R wheel on my 00 CIVIC SIR = SI

The airbag plug is a 2 wire connector. and the JDM airbag is also a 2 wire connector.

The USDM Si and RSX wheel is a 4 wire connector.

Mine above has a functioning airbag in it^^^

the JDM one will work perfectly with USDM EK's since its the same plug.
The USDM wheel however has a different airbag plug and the airbag wont work.

This is the USDM EP3 AIRBAG CONNECTOR - its a 4 wire plug:



This is the JDM RSXR AIRBAG CONNECTOR - its a 2 wire plug:


The JDM one is the same as the EK connector. and so if you want that three spoke wheel for an EK civic you need to get the JDM RSX R wheel!

And just to make sure we are on the same page:
EK=96-00
EJ=92-95

this is a great air bag intro :-) ... The EK3 ist almost the same as the EJ9 both are 96-00 Hatchbacks. The EJ9 is the 75 hp and the EK3 the 114 hp automobile. I know the ctr srs wheel fits into the EJ9 as a fellow has done it. I am wondering though if the EK3 has the same connectors as the EJ9. This is what I will have to find out.

it will most likely have the airbag connector i posted above.

so if you want a three spoke wheel u can go with a JDM CTR or JDM RSX R wheel.

take your airbag out it takes a whole 5 minutes to do!

 

Okeedokee, the EDM EJ9/EK3s have 2p-connectors. Now, where do I get the aforementioned JDM steering wheels?

Oh, and civic dude, if you put a jdm tr steering wheel on your SiR, doesn't that mean that the 00 SiR has a 2p connector? Did the 00 SiR come with a three spoke wheel. Should I look out for one as well (as I said, I don't in particular care for the red badge.)

 

The SiR, or the Si here in the states, came with four-spoke steering wheels. If you have an eBay account, you could pick up these...

Yes the car is a 00SIR. im from canada so in the states the same car = SI

It did not come with 3 spoke steering wheel, it came with the ugly wheel seen below:



As mentioned above the following 3 wheels are 3 spoke and have 2 wire connector:

Of course, that AP1 wheel is nice, but the auction says airbags don't work. That's why it's so cheap. It would look good in a civic if you dont mind not having airbags.
