Default JIC FLTA-2's - Installed

No installation pictures... but here they are.

This was a group buy done by Wired Speedlab, who is an ITR Expo sponsor this year!

Most everyone got the FLTA-2 w/ custom rates/custom dampers. I got 12k Front and 14K rear, 7.75" length springs. I'm awaiting my 26mm Mugen rear sway and some track time before I comment on anything besides first impressions on the street.

They are height adjustable seperate of the spring 'preload' perch.... which is very nice. You dont have to take anything off the car to adjust height, simply loosen the lower perch that clamps to the bottom of the threaded body, and twist the perches that sit on the bottom of the springs!

I checked my camber with my friend Wai's electronic camber gauge... as of right now I have 3* on both front tires, zero toe, and 2.7* on the RL and 3* on the RR. I DEFINITELY need a camber kit for the rear! LOL! I have adjusted my toe in the front and have had no ill effects so far with respect to tire wear. I'm also about 1.25" lower than stock.... looks nice and the ride is MUCH improved ride (in every aspect) compared to when I first installed the suspension at stock height. I'm sure I could go a bit lower without getting totally slizzammed.. but I have my bulky 195/55/15 Artic Alpins still on, no reason to lower any further.

I do not currently have a pic of the car as it sits now, but I will add one as soon as I can get one.

Big thanks to Lance (for use of his Skunk2 Camber arms) and dave for help with the install.

Oh, the Skunk2 arms were dremeled to rough up the surface where the bolts clamp down on the camber 'plate'.

Dirty already!!

I'll post a review when I've had more time to drive them..

So far... I am VERY impressed. On low settings, they are very streetable. The bad bumps around town are bad, but for the most part, I like it very much. The construction, fit and finish is very good. So far.... most excellent!

Pics are slow loading.. solly.

I'm not THAT low.. not even tucking. We set the skunk2 arms right in the middle of their adjustment, and thats what we got. To be honest, it looks alot less due to my soft sidewalled tires, but the camber gauge doesn't lie.

Weak sauce. It still rides like a Lexus.

Man going crazy with the car this summer huh?

I'm assuming all these posts with the installs mean you're keeping the car right?

Yes. Everything worked out and I'm doing my best to ensure I dont have to worry about that sort of thing in the future.

But what does 12kg/mm and 14kg/mm translate to in pounds/inch?

so your driving on the street with 1400lb/1500lb spring rates or something in that ball park? Man, how do you do it? do you fly out of your fackin seat? i do with my Koni yellows and Skunk2's.. can't imagine much higher spring rates then that for the street..

how do you like it i mean is it stiff as hell, but with nice dampering, or is it plain out rugged and harsh on your back and neck?

Jerry, multiply kg/mm by 55.8 to get lb/in.

12K/14K translates to 670#/781#.
