Default just crashed my hatch SF bay area.

edit: <U>pics on page 2

Well if any of you live around the SF area,
then you might have noticed the 100 MILLION ******* GALLONS OF RAIN that just dropped on our heads.

well I was driving down the 280 to 380 junction in my 93 hatch(it has neuspeed koni sports ,and 450lb coilovers.. so its a pretty stiff suspension.. and i'm borrowing my friends steelies with **** tires... not a good combo for this wheather)

Rain was coming down harder than I have ever witnessed while driving!
I have really NEVER driven through anything so gnarly.
my wipers were going full blast, and imbetween every wipe I would be blinded.

So anyways, I come out of a turn.. and start going straight, then I see in the distance a car crashed on the side of the road.. I think "damn that sucks" ...
then my car starts to slide, wasnt sure what was goin on at first, felt like something was just pushing me to the right.
Try to correct.. nothing.. try to slow down.. nothing..

and where am I headed?? right into that crashed car.
so basically I sit there and try and do what I can(which is nothing) to stop this slide.. and I just watch myelf slide for like 150feet into this other crashed car that probly did the exact same thing.

didnt hit it going that fast( i was only doing 45 to start off with, due to the rain)
was probly going 7-10 once I finally hit it.. not that fast.. but fast enough to totaly bash in my front end.

So no more hatch, turbo kit was probly just a few weeks away from going on... had some 205-50-15 azenis waiting to go on...
now my insurance is probably going to be totally and utterly fuct(have a minor at fault fenderbender on my record too).

ahh anyways, I guess I just wanted to vent.
I'll post some pics tomorrow when I go to the tow yard.

That's horrible, I was out in my hatchie over in SF near Bayshore and i'm telling you I saw floating objects and cars stuck in the middle of the road from the rain flooding some areas. I was worried I was going to suck up water thru my intake it was that bad. Did you mess up your radiator support? If not then just replace it yourself dude, don't claim it if you did.

I crashed my 95 Civic EX coupe last summer in a very similar accident. It was the worst day of my life. The promising thing was, they totalled my car. Since it was a 95 the title stays clean. I was only doing 5 mph when I bumped the car in front of me. Totally messed up all the bodywork on the front end and it bent the crossmember. Everything else was pretty much fine. The airbags didn't even deploy. I took it to my buddies house and we are in the process of putting it all back together better than before. The insurance company gave me $5000 for it and I bought it back for $350!!!So far I've spent like $2500 and it is looking really good. If you have someone that knows how to do bodywork it is a real help. My best friend is a mechanic and his brother is a bodyman so I am getting a really sweet deal. The worst part about my accident was I just got my B16A in it the week before! I could have cried! Good luck with the insurance company. Hope you make it out as good as I did.
If I can help in any way please just email or send me a message.

Christian

Yeah, that sucks man. Sorry about your hatch.

Speaking of Azenis tires, those are horrible in the rain too. A friend of mine had them on his 99 Si. He was on the freeway going only 50mph and he hydroplaned and spun out. Luckily there was no damage to his car, just a spin-out.

That sucks, the rain has been so F$%&king horrible these past few days! It's a good time to make sure your brakes and tires are in good shape, it might not be as fun as spending money on go fast parts- but its a lot better than smashing your baby! Sorry to hear about the hatch.

thanks for all the support guys.
I need it.

I'm starting to get really really bummed out.
I dont have any money, and I dont have collision insurance, I might get an at fault on my record.
And I owe people like 500bucks...

plus I picked up the car today and got a ******* parking ticket for my sisters ******* car. frickin crap.

But anyways.
I went and got the car today,
its too dark for my cruddy digicam to work so I'll have to wait till tomorow to post pics.
but the damage is pretty bad.
the whole front end is smashed in.
Engine looks ok, radiator/intake is ruined(along my with new kn dropin which I could have sold for like 30bux)
hood/fender/bumper are trashed, along with rad support and alot of the frame on the front end.

Looks like my koni's are ok though!!! yess!!
got an exhaust leak too, so the car sounds really cool, haha.

sigh..
