Default Action 2MD clutch users

How do you guys/gals like the clutch? Is it streetable? I'm in the market for a new clutch but I can't afford a twin disc so I'm looking at other options. It's a 6 puck un-spung disc, correct? How does it drive in stop and go traffic? And how long have you had it, does it wear down real fast or does it have some decent life to it?

I have a step above the 2MD (not a twin disk) and it is very streetable, pedal effort is fine. It is a little on/off but with some practice it should be fine.

I thought a sprung 6 puck would be more streetable then the non-sprung 6 puck but I was told the 2md would be better for me. Is that right?

sprung clutchs tend to "chatter" more due to the springs loading and unloading..I have a 2MD and drive with it like its stock.

I like the 2MD in my case, but I would not enjoy it as much if I dealt with heavy traffic frequently. For holding extra driveline power it does it's job well.

I do suggest if you are street driving it alot to use an aftermarket flywheel instead of an OEM flywheel. Repeated slipping of this puck/unsprung clutch will put alot of heat into the flywheel. OEM flywheels get weaker as the are abused in this way. I'd rather be safe and run a SFI cert fylwheel right from the start.

I run the 2MD. The pedal is pretty stiff compared to oem but you get use to it pretty quickly. As its pretty much an on/off clutch, driving in traffic is not very pleasant due to the unsprung nature and as you can't really slip it as you can with a normal clutch. A lot of people including myself experience that screeching noise when you try to slip it in situations where it can't be helped (ie, when your in slow moving traffic, parking lot etc...). If you spend a lot of time in traffic I wouldn't go for the MD. On the flip side, it will handle quite some torque you can throw at it, so if you're boosted and do some drag racing etc...then its all good.
