k ****, my 99 civic, anyways, bought a deck, bought an aftermarket harness made up to 98 as it says on the bag cuz they were out of up to 00 so i was like meh ill try, take out the lower dash take out the deck, bam harness doesnt fit the oem one...get one made up to 00, same deal, doesnt fit, maybe its cuz my deck is just a radio or something, but the plugs do not fit each other

so im like alright ill do it the same way i wired my talon, hacked off the factory harnes, and started stripping and twisting the wires together with an installdoctor and haynes by my side

anyways, everythign is wired except 2 misc wires on the factory for itnerior illumination, start the car up, deck doestn turn on, try pushign all the buttons nothing, everything else is working great, except the deck

shut car off, rechecked all the wiring, everything is where it should be , change the ground to a screw on the metal cage around it, originally it was on the black ground wire, try again, still nothing

so basically, i have a hacked off oem harness and a non working deck, if anyone can fix my problem u will be a honda tech god

 

Here are your wire colors buddy. I don't know how much more help I can be:

EDIT: The pin locations are to the left of the numbers This is how the pins are numbered looking at the plug going into the radio

1 Yel/blk: Power antennae motor
2 Yel/red: ACC (main stereo power supply)
5 Red/yel: Right rear speaker +
6 Blue/Yel: Left rear speaker +
7 red/grn: right front door speaker + / right tweeter +
8 blue: Left front door speaker +/left tweeter +
9 red/blk: Lights on signal
10 white/blue: Constant Power (tuning memory)
15 Brn/wht: Right rear speaker -
16 Gry/wht: Left rear speaker -
17 brn/blk: Right front door speaker -/ right tweeter -
18 gry/blk: left front door speaker -/ left tweeter -
19 red: Dash brightness controller
20 Blk: Ground

That's how your stock harness was put together, if you need to know which pins are which let me know. I dunno about you having problems with the plugs not fitting, but that will at least get your stock headunit back up and running.
