short shifter install

i hate it when the linkage hits the exhaust pipe when you have a short shifter. im going to take mine out and go with the stock.

Those 2 and 3 nuts were a bitch on my car when i first undid them last year.

You shouldn't need to unbolt anything on the exhaust. You may want to drop it down though. There are usually little rubber bungees holding the exhaust pipe up.

I just did a shifter install and these are the tools you need:
3/8 ratchet is best
12mm socket
12mm open end wrench
flat heat or fat pliers to hold down the bolts from the cabin

i only took the bold for the shift linkage and the 2 holding the assembly in place out. i didn't take all thor other out, you just unbolt the 3 main ones and kinda wiggle it out past the pipe.. took an hour to get everything done
question, did anyone put lube in the socket the shifter goes in? i noticed today my squeaks a bit.. thinkin i may need some lube, any ideas?
