I pulled up those rubber things up to day and its not those. Might look at the windows, or hatch seal.

first gut the whole rear end of it. it's not that hard. hose it down real good and go from there.

check your rear window inside rubber seals.

Is it an Si? You might be having your drip tubes for your sunroof contribuiting to your problem also.

Good luck

take the headliner out and you will see all the bolts holding the sunroof up. Its pretty easy to take out, but helps if you have two ppl to do it.

Dry it up! Sit inside the trunk area to look for where its leaking and have someone spray from the outside with a water hose.

mine leaks a few drips on the grey plastic part along the window.. furthur towards the front/door... its the window seal and latch not being tight enough. open the rear windows and check how tight the latch is around the mounting hole in the glass.. mine wobbles a bit with the window open from the washers being old i think... but it seals OK when closed. maybe yours is worse.. at least that little tray is trapping some of it.

That's how we used to find leaks in cars when I worked at a body shop.

I have the exact same problem. Same side too. I found that the weatherstripping on the hatch door was leaking. It goes down the side and comes out through where the rear seat belts attach at and dips from there. I put silicone on it till I got some weatherstripping from work. My manager pressed on the weatherstripping and what do you know water came running out of that spot and into the tray. Hope this helps you out.

thanks to t-mo we figure out where the leak is!!!^^^^^ its right where he said it was on the hatch weatherstripping....we opened the back of the hatch and poured water down the back part on the drivers side weather stripping piece shut the hatch door and stood back and water started dripping into that cup from the rear seatbelt holder thing and we looked at the weather stripping and there was a small piece missing from it.....so all the guys that said they had problems then thats how to fix it...thanks t-mo you just saved about 20 cars on this post haha it still doesnt fix my sunroof leaking but i wont have to worry about water in that damn cup anymore

I had that problem and I pulled up the rubber and there was a pretty tiny rust hole in the body and I sealed it and it stopped

i have a leak in the rear as well...much different from these types though. i will notice after it rains sometimes, a puddle will form on the floor of the hatch. my car is gutted and i can see where the water IS COMING FROM.

it is coming out of the section where the taillights reside. i'm not sure how though, but the rear is TOTALLY gutted and i can physically see it come out sometimes.

any help?

might want to check your taillight gaskets and the weather stripping around your rear hatch because thats where mine is comming from, take off your taillights and scrape the gaskets off and put new ones on.

Was that your problem? The taillight gaskets? Did that fix it? So if I fix the taillight gaskets, and the hatch weather stripping, then all I need to do is blow out the drain tubes? UGH. I love this 89 civic SI I just got, but what a pain in the ***. Hope I don't break interior pieces. BLAH.
