Removable Steering Hubs.
Hey all!
Here's a little toy I have on my car which some of you might find interesting. It's quick release hub thoughtfully designed for easy ingress/egress particularly for those who have bucket seats with high side bolsters!
Another neat alternative is the fact that you can remove the steering wheel so potential thieves will certainly do a double take before trying something!
Because of the thickness of the assembly, the wheel does get pushed out about an inch or so....the column stalks are a bit further to reach but IHMO the steering position relative to the driver is better.
This fits all popular steering hubs a la MOMO, BOSS, etc..etc.
It's available in silver, blue and red (not pictured)
The silver one pictured is on my car...and the blue one is on a '00 SiR/Si
At the moment, they can be had for about $200USD but if interest increases, prices will drop down to about $180...
Got any comments or questions? Either email me, post up....
Thanks!
Moderators, if you feel this is not appropriate in this section, please delete it or move to classifieds.... I figured it might be best for people who want to keep their cars to themselves....but if it must be deleted...
No bad feelings on this end....

Here's another company. This is the one I am planning to get:

That's pretty neat! It looks like there's even an electrical contact on the center of the hub to allow for horn functionality or I could be wrong.

How is it released?........my reason for the question is.. could it be possible to accdentally press the release button (or whatever it is to release it) while u are driving?
I'm trying to source a quick-release hub adaptor from Worksbell in Japan. Worksbell has about 12 precision ball bearing to securely hold your steering wheel and it comes off just like the F1 style. Price is ~30,000 yen or $300. I'm just waiting for some people to somehow import one for me.
[Edit] Also, you can get one from Truechoice [/Edit]
[Edit2] Damn, I have too much time on my hands... I was thinking if a thief wanted to drive it, they could use a torque wrench to drive it around.. haha. or, by chance does a spare jack wrench fit over it?

just to clear things, RagingAngel's wheel is a hybrid between a momo monte carlo steering wheel with a momo champion center cap cosmetic thingy. So you can call it a Monte Champion.
Very nice, will it work with JDM R MOMO steering wheel?
And just to reconfirm, SnyperSiR is correct in that it is virtually impossible to accidentally detach the wheel during driving.....
We've gone through a couple of lapping days and no problems....steering wheel is still tight in its place!
N1-R is correct in his clarification....where he calls it the Monte Champion....I prefer to call it the Monte Carlo "SE"
ILOVERACING: The wheel pictured on SnyperSiR's car is not an NSX-R wheel but a Momo Champion with a BOSS hub which included the Honda horn button....
I believe the NSX-R wheel is actually a MOMO Corse....
