Default Skunk2 Manifold gains with turbo?

Basically, I can get one for $250 for my LS, would it be a worthwhile buy for my future FI setup? My current manifold is one for a the 90-91 automatic engine that I converted to manual for my swap(don't ask). Kinda restrictive being the early model and it has EGR valve stuff plumbed into it..............

thats a good price, dont expect much of gain though before boost.. But the skunk2 manifolds have proven to be a worth while investment.. I am planning on getting one in the future..

Or spend the extra 200 bucks and get a HP sheet metal intake manifold. Just a thought

With the skunk manifold you'll pick up about 10 hp up top and almost 15 in the midrange. That's normally aspirated. Add another 10-15 to those figures for FI. The skunk manifold makes great power in the midrange where you use it especially if your car is daily driven.

I deal directly with HP Engineering. Let me know if you want one.

Those numbers are a little on the optimistic side... Even with FI, 10-15whp and 10-15ft/lbs (depending on boost) would be max.

Here's a direct comparison that we did on our turbo integra. Only thing changed was GSR manifold swapped for S2 manifold:

You can see that the gains were mainly in the mid range.

that's a very interesting and confusing dyno result...It took me about 3 minutes to figure out which was which since all the readings fall in the same area. So by looking at that, you gained 15 peak ft/lbs of torque and lost about 4 peak hp...but made up for the loss in hp in the midrange and gained gobs of torque starting at around 5500 rpm....cool.

those results were directly related to the smallish size of your turbo, BTW. Thats why you didn't see any top end gains, IMHO.

Won't a LS see more gains as well due to the design of the LS manifold itself which has longer/taller runners that are made for midrange torque? compared to a b16/skunk2 manifold (more top end)? I'm modifying one of my spare LS heads to fit a b16 intake manifold as we speak, I'll re-dyno in 2 weeks and we'll see some results.

Sorry for the confusion... Blue lines are before (GSR manifold), red lines are after (S2).

Yes we traded 4whp (peak) for 15ft/lb... very fair trade IMO. You drive TQ not hp...

hmm.....what seems weird to me is the A/F ratio. W/ the S2 its different than stock in everyspot except for 5700....the exact spot where peak torque gains were seen. If they adjusted their fuel so that the a/f line was the same as before, do you think they wouldn't have had the bottom end, and slight top end looses?
