Default Visit from the UPS Man

Just got my block back from Spark racing with som new RSMachines Sleeves

I'll get some better pics up soon, gotta wait for someone to send the pics from home since I am at school and the picture phone isnt too good. All I can say now is that the service was great and I'll see about the quality soon, but from what I hear I dont have anything to worry about

Block looks mint!

It looks like your sleeves aren't decked, If I was you I'd be sure because it looks like they are sitting below the deck height. Also did you get a line hone done to the block?

IT was decked after they sleeved it, they tell me it isn't necessary to have it line honed after its done the way RS does it. Of course I will check everything to be sure before I assemble the block.

As far as my setup:

RS sleeved b16A2 block
81.0mm wiseco 9:1 comp. pistons and rings
eagle rods
Rev Hard 2c Kit
SC-34, cast manifold, Intercooler
Exedy Clutch...will upgrade soon along with an LSD
AFC Hack, but going to hondata this summer after its broken in and I have another job.
Thermal 3" exhaust and 2.5" to 3" downpipe

There is probably more, but its tough to think about it when I am so far away from everything. I want to go for around 400 whp when I get everything tuned.

Thanks for all of the comments.

That's what they told me too

I needed a line hone (+150.00 my pocket) and i needed the head machined (+200.00) b.c my sleeves were NOT decked.

I'm trying to give you a heads up. Personally b.c sleeving is an invasive process most engine builders, not all suggest a line hone. Just my .02

Why is it that nobody ever says these things when people ask about a company before they make a decision??

Thanks for the heads up though.

Well Guys I hate to here that! Well from personal experance we have never had to get our blocks line hone unless we use new main caps or gsr girdles etc.. For example Jojo Callos has ran the same block All Year and has never had to have his block line honed... Not that im saying its a bad thing to do... In a perfect world yes, you can get you block lined honed... does it actually need it no..... If you have any more question please feel free to give MIKE at RS a Call at 1-310-328-5514 for any more questions in this matter you might have....

RS Machines </TD></TR></TABLE>

I know RS does a GREAT job on blocks or else mine wouldn't have went there.

At the end of the whole transaction with RS I was disappointed how things turned out - plain and simple. I know Big Mike, John and Rich, I've had many upon many conversations with them. I'm just talking from my personal experience - just facts. I told Rich at RS if I was ever asked or came across information about RS I would explain my situation. I saw this post and commented b.c his sleeves looked exactly as mine [ the deck height ].

RS Machines do stand behind there product and when they make a mistake they admit it. Example, I wanted 83mm and i guess some how communication got messed up over there and I got 84mm. I was pissed but Rich called me and wanted to make it right. My 83mm Arias pistons I purchased from them were now useless and RS did refund me my $ for them. Some feel that's the least they could do in that situation, blah blah blah.

I'm still sticking to what I said before, you might want to check these things, b.c in my situation if these were not addressed I'd be doing another rebuild sooner then I'd like to.
