Default 98+ Headlights - Tips to clean the exterior ? Advice and help needed.

I currently got a set of 98 headlights for a pretty decent deal, but it looks to be dirty on the outside.

Which it isn't blurred or fogged. Its just lots of dirt, and normal wear on its exterior.

Any way i can help keep these looking new as possible? Is there a way to buff, sand, wax the headlights to keep new? Thanks.

I had the same issue with my headlights about a month ago, I used the article from TI and it worked great. Here's the link http://www.team-integra.net/se...D=662

Washed them really good then put neverdull stuff on it wiped it down and did it again, now they look a lot clearer.

Anyone know where I can pick some up in the Los Angeles area? Can't seem to find it at my local auto store.

That stuff is simply a rubbing compound.

I used a very fine turtle wax rubbing compound I had laying around and got the same results. Just borrow some from a friend that details cars and it works just as good.

i know you guys are going to flame but toothpaste works great....getsome on your hands and start rubbing it on the headlights with little water and slight pressure. Works all the time...cheap

Anything else that can really brings out the new, in these headlights? My set comes pretty decent. Just that. Looks pretty dull and not smooth surface, exterior. ( but still 90% clear)..

I guess i will try some weird solution and buff it out? Get all those small junk/crap off the surface of the lense. Any suggestions? Best to use to clean and buff with?

hMm, never thought of this? Claybar will help reduce little particals.

Ever try using steel wool? Or is this bad idea?

Use 1000 grit, 1500 grit, and finally 2000 grit sandpaper in that order to get all the little pits and imperfections out. Then take a metal polishing compound and go to town like you were waxing a car. After wiping away the polishing compound they will look better than new.

Try it on an old clear lens or one from a junkyard. Once the light has been sanded up to 2000 grit, using a dremel with polishing bit works WONDERS. You'll be sold.
