Default DIYO lightening flywheel question

has anyone here ever lightened their flywheel before? by themselves? and not by just buying an aftermarket one!

a machine shop has to do it. There is only so much they can take off before the flywheel becomes unusable.

You might as well buy an aftermarket one and get the strength and durability of one.

you can have it lightened or do it yourself. but as stated above, there it will be unstable unless it is balanced. Otherwise, it's a bad idea because the vibrations from an unbalanced flywheel will just start damaging the block, crank, etc.

This is honestly something I would leave to a professional. Personally, I would spend the extra money for an aftermarket piece, because as P1mpSlap said, there is a limit to the amount that can safely be removed from the stock piece, and that limit is nowhere near as light as I prefer a flywheel to be.

Some people think lightened flywheels are pretty dodgy even when done by a professional, things can go really bad if they fly apart.
I would get a professional to do it if I were you but then I have a RHD so it's my own ankles I have to worry about
