vin plate on pre-96 blocks
USDM
Pre 96, no vin plates
96 and up, vin plates
True, they dont have a vin plate, but the number stamped on the block under the block identification (b18?) is linked to the vin. The police will run the block number to get the vin and then run the vin to get the status of your motor. If either the block ID or the block numbers have been ground off, your screwed, tampering with vehicle seriel numbers.
I know all this from experience. Was going to buy a motor from a local Dallas shop. No numbers other than B20, block number ground off. After the shop assuring me everything was legit, I ended up calling the local Police to get the 411 on block number. Long story short, the shop with the motor got into some deep ****.
Not for sure about the vin on a JDM, Dont think they had one, but ALL Honda motors came with a block id and seriel number
