Default Front and rear O2 sensor...any difference?

Any difference in the outputs of these O2 sensors? This is for a 1996 GSR.

yes, the front controls stuff like a/r,ect. and the back is just mainly to tell if the cat is doing its job.

Yeah i knew that much. But i was thinking maybe they both have the capable of the same outputs but it's the ecu that computes the differences because of the cat. Basically what I'm asking are the o2s interchangable since they are both 4 wire or do they read the exhaust gas differently.

I believe they're physically the same

however the primary can't be hooked up to the secondary pin-out and vice versa. but i'm pretty sure they're the same.

Ill make a long story short

When we were doing my turbo install, my primary o2 sensor was accidently damaged when the header was removed. Since i was not going to run a cat I had no use for the secondary, so I made a thread prior to using it to make sure it would work.

My friends/memebers told me it was the same.

I used it(secondary) as the primary and It works fine

They are both the same and function the same, just has different purposes as stated above. The only difference is the length and the 2nd/rear one has a grommet for the hole in the floorboard. Yes they're interchangeable.

And yeah, if you disconnect the 2nd O2 sensor it won't affect performance at all.
