I beleive the Hks hiper has more ground clearance then the N1, and has a smaller Muffler, like the N/A universal muffler

I have the HKS Hiper on my hatch right now. If you dont want a loud exhaust I wouldnt suggest the HKS. I have a B16 with 2.25" piping no res. and its pretty loud. It looks pretty much like the N/A N1.

you could always throw a resonator on there. It has a nice sound but after 5k, its getting really loud, maybe its just my setup. The only real way is to try it and find out.

Ding ding ding, we have winner. The canister is smaller then the N1, and he is right, there is more ground clearence. I have the Hiper on my 92 hatch.

I just dont understand ppl...Why would you spend 400+ dollars on an exhaust that your just going to have chopped up to add a resonator ,etc,etc...to me IMHO its pointless misewell get a damn weld on...

Most decent exhausts come with a resonator of some sort. Usually exhausts over 400 bux.

The thing I don't like about the Niper and N1 is the both run under the LCA. Eventually you will hit something.

Exhausts that go over the LCA leave less of a chance of something happening to it.

i have the hks and its a pretty quiet exhaust compared to some ohters like the n1. it has 2 resonators, one after the cat and 1 about 2 or 3 ft before the muffler. the ground clearance is good only if you don't live in bosotn. i scraped the pipe that come down from the muffler a few dozen times and now i got a crack in it(jb weld fixed it up though). overall it's a very good exhaust. its constructed well and sounds really good. only problem is the pipe that hangs kinda low, but i don't mind too much becaus ewhen spring comes around i'm going to have the pipe run above the lca instead of under.

Which would defeat the prupose of getting it in the 1st place.

how is that

if i run it above the lca it will actually have fewer bends while increasing the ground clearance and still have it coming out at the same angle as it is now

Wrong you will have more bends going over the LCA.

Exactly unless you are planning on having it come straight out like a JIC or a Tanabe. If you want the muffler angled it will have more bends.

Not to mention I con't see hacking up a 500+ exhaust for the clearance issue. But that's just me.

i have checked how i'm going to route the pipping and it looks like there will be the same if not less bends. its going to go from the mufflerover the lca and connect straight to the s pipe where the second resonator is. basically there will be one mildly sharp bend to bring it to the lca area and a smooth bend to clear the lca to connect to the s pipe. also if i don't re-route the exhaust then i'm going to keep on scraping it and keep on craking or bending/crushing the pipe so i don't see why there would be a problem with hacking it up to give me more clearance. my car isn't dropped really low i never scraped my oil pan. the streets around where i live are rally shitty. every summer they do cnstruction around my neighborood and when they patch it up they do a sorry job. also most street have crowns in them and what i mean is that the middle is high the it slope off to the sides like a hill so oyur wheels will be on the sloping edges while the underside of the car will be above the highest part and it will make it very difficult to avoid anything imperfection in the road.
