UpDate Project B18c5 Killa: The BLOCK, The PISTONS, & Rods (PICS INSIDE)
Here's a continuation of my ITR Killa Project.
The original thread was https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=679394 .
I am detailing the buildup.
A B16a block was sent to GE to be sleeved with 84mm sleeves.
Honda-tech member "Mochanic" then sent the block to have the sleeves machined to 84.5mm for the Endyn/Wiseco Pistons. These pistons are a b20 application with a 7.9 cc dome displacement. It is very important to send the pistons with the block when having the sleeves bored and honed to maintain proper piston to wall clearance. We also took the extra step of having the block zero decked to remove any imperfections of distortions in the block surface. Many times having the block sleeved causes the deck to distort resulting in faulting sealing with the head. Removing material from the deck also gave me the added compression I need.
I sent the pistons to HPC to have the skirts coated to reduce drag and improve wear. I had the domes coating to reduce heat and detonation. This would be important especially since I have plans to run nitrous in the future.
Additional pics will be posted soon.
