How? Convert p28 auto to manual ECU?
Just like the title says I got a p28 auto ecu im using in a manual, works great but throws a code for the auto transaxle solenoid, obvisouly this sint a real problem its only cause im using it on a manual. Is there a wire to cut or a mod to do to make it stop throwing the code??

did you swap the car from auto to manual also??
did it on 2 of my cars b4 and had to splice one wire
to the old auto. shifter
both times used a oem auto. ecu( no codes):
92 integra
89 civic 4dr.

even if you chip it it will not make it an auto you have to cut 2 resistors and jump them togethor

no need to chip it if you want to keep the stock program. honda designed and built with most hardware to be quickly interchangable between trannies.
take a look at the following jumpers in the lower right hand corners of the ECU,
RP17 and RP18 values:
Auto to Manual:
remove RP17 and RP18
replace RP18 with a jumper wire

Don't they need to be a certain resistance? Meaning that just soldering a wire there won't fix it? Just was thinking, thanks

NOOOOW we're getting somewhere... nice ok so hatchback19 brings up a good point, dont they need to be a certain resistance? Also what about what T-RO said about IC15 + IC16?? Thanks again fellas...

yes a jumper/wire = 0 ohm resistance, and rp17 removed will remove the solenoid activation/check engine..
IC 15/16 do nothing once the jumpers are changed around. you can remove them but its not necessary.

how do you remove the resistors? Just put a soldering iron on the end until the solder is loose enough to pull them off or should I just be able to snap them out?

same thing, as the base auto and 5spd programs are identical. only changes to the programming is the shift points/activation (thats on another set of hardware within ecu, thus once jumpers removed it no longer reads it)

That is the only thing that needs to be done to "make" the ecu function as a manual.
Blanket chippings are not the fix all. Any of you with chipped ecu's should check and see how your ecu was chipped. Idealy with a manual ecu they should have the jumper set as shown. Also you should have 2 ceramic disc caps installed @ C51 and C52 these help to condition the power that is being sent to the chip.
