Default Civic's gettin a new battery...woo hoo super duper cheap and light.

I know it's been covered a gazillion times on these forums, but well since we've got such cramped engine bays I though't I'd share.
I've got somewhat of a system, but nothing too major. Class d mtx amp at 350 watts on a 12" alpine sub. I think I'll be ok w/this little thing.
It's worth a shot b/c of the price. It's just an unmarked version of the more expensive ones.
Anyone else free up some room in their bay w/this?

posts for it.

What yall think?

It doesn't look that much smaller in that pic, can you take a pic when it is in your engine bay?

These NEW batteries are 5 months to 1.5 years old, but have not been cycled other than for testing. Only batteries that perform to the Hawker specification (10 minutes reserve at 40 amps discharge to 10.00 volts) will be shipped.

Though these batteries are small, they'll start a V8 engine several times and are popular for many race cars and motorcycles since they only weigh 11.5 pounds.

THESE BATTERIES SELL FOR AS MUCH AS $99.00 DISGUISED AS A HARLEY DAVIDSON STARTING BATTERY AND ARE BEING OFFERED HERE FOR

JUST $30.00!! (if you buy 1, or $25.00ea for a pair, other discounts apply for larger quantities) Wholesale pricing in quantities of 100 is still above $65.00 each at distributors. This is an EXCELLENT VALUE.

I have one of these batteries. They are awesome, I've only needed to recharge it once due to me leaving the ignition on by accident . The battery fully recharged in 2 hours and has never needed it again. It does free up a lot of useful space in the engine bay.

Bryson that's very nice.

I think I'll have to change out my positive wire teminal, but maybe not. I've got one 0f those gold connectors from Circuit City for my amp wire.

Don't want to create a new thread just for this...

Where do you get these unmarked, cheap batteries? surplusev doesn't seem to be up anymore..

I got one of the last of the surplusEV batteries. Actually they are Hawker G13EPs, which are now sold as Enersys/Odessey PC-585s.

The demand for these batteries has gone up drastically. Mine was $70 shipped with the gold connectors three years ago, now it would be $115 or so. Is it worth $115 you ask? In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY!

As for jump starting another car, you CAN jump start another car if your car is running without any trouble at all, as long as its cranking amp demands are low like on a Honda.
