How to fix a FITV its as easy as 1, 2, 3....
many of you guys have had idle issues, and alot of the times its the FITV tahts messing everything up, and know im going to show you guys how easy it is to fix the situation....it was easier the i thought...
here is a picture of the problem its unscrewed and not it place (opened FITV)
here is another shot right after i took off the cap (its not supposed to be flesh with the end of the unit)
all you really need to do is screw back in the middle section back on tight (see the too open sections on the edge of the inner part, the white part) and your set here is the thing empty
so when your sone screwing the FITV and everything is tight and cleanded properly it should look like this
now just put the cap back on pretty tight and make sure it seals good and everything, then put it back on the manifold and plug in the 2 coolant lines and you now can idle under 3k rpms...sorry for the bad explenation but i guess sthe pics make up for what i lack in

here is the FITV right under the TB
here is a closer shot of it
its only found on OBD0 manifolds from what i know of, and it controls the idle when its warm and when it is cold, and it changes it depends on the warmth of the coolnant, so basically whne ur coolant is warm (engine is warm) and idle goes down

ya you can use any FITV, i used one from a prelude, all i had to do is change the end cap for the coolant lines because it was different, that why in the pic the end is dirtier then the rest of it

I don't have an FITV. I put on a skunk2 mani with a 68mm TB and GOODBYE FITV. So now when I start my car I just hold the gas pedal down and let it idle at 1200 for a one minute before I drive it.
Only really cold morning starts I would always let it idle for 1 minute before I drove it anyway. That's with it in neutral and clutch engaged so I can get the tranny gears lubed as well.
BTW: removing the FITV for me didn't change my hot idle.. only my cold idle.

FITV only contorl COLD Idle the IACV controls the Warm Idle...

that first picture my OBD1 manifold also has it Xsi 92-93 
I just notice that because my other manifold don't have it
soo I am gussing the OBD0 and OBD1 which came out of Xsi 92-93 OBD1 has it also I don't know about the civics

ya u basically spin the whole unit around in, notice that its more in then in the first 2 pic, tighten the thing as much and you can....sorry about the X's village photos was being gay and i finally found a good host.. 88DXCRX for the host suggestion they pulled through...any other questions?
