Default Dyno Test Imagine Engineering Header

I just got back from the dyno!

Setup:
95 Honda Civic
95 JDM H22
Thermal Exhaust
AEM Cold Air Intake

Here is a picture of the stock manifold with the 2.5" collector

Here is the Imagine Engineering header:

Here is the dyno results:

I put the car up on the dyno and ran the car with the factory manifold 2 or 3 times to get it warmed up and get some consistant runs. Run#4 was a little lower than #3, so I used #3 for the comparison. Took off the factory manifold and put on the Imagine Engineering header. It made a max gain of 17 hp @ 7100 rpm and 12 ft-lbs @ 6700 rpm!!! I am going to get a fuel pressure regluator later this week. I didn't have anything to adjust or tune. My air/fuel was a little lean (ranged from 15:1 to 14:1) on both headers and I think I can get more power out of it if I make it a little richer. I'm guessing it will be around 185 with a regulator and maybe 185-190 with a VAFC. Installation wasn't too bad. A 35.5" alternator belt is needed and a little triming of the lip on the lower crossmember and lower radiator support is needed to get the header up through.

I highly recommend this header and can't wait to get the fuel all tuned out and get it to the track. 13's for sure!

Thanks to Mike @ Imagine Engineering for helping me out and hosting my pics.

Seriously, he only gained above VTEC. I guess that could be a good thing if you were trying to keep the car very tame for commuting.
Damn nice gains up top though.

Yeah I would have liked to see more midrange gains, but it defintely keeps the power from dropping off in VTEC

Any header that only 'gains' in VTEC...all that means is that the stock header was a huge restriction before...

Test it against an SMSP and watch it get owned...

Engine

H22A4, not sure of the mileage but it came out of a junk yard car.

Mods

*SMSP #5 Prototype 4-2-1 Header (includes enough 2-1/2" tubing to clear P/S and ATTS units)
*CM light weight flywheel
*B&M FPR
* 2-3/4" x 3" CAI tubing with a K&N Filter
* No P/S (edit)
* Underdrive Crank Pulley (edit) this has been on for all 5 headers.
The SAE Numbers are as follows:

RPM Torque HP
4000 138.4 105.4
4200 142.2 113.7
4400 144.9 121.4
4600 141.5 124.0
4800 138.5 126.6
5000 146.3 139.3
5200 153.4 151.9
5400 153.0 157.3
5600 154.0 164.3
5800 155.1 171.3
6000 155.4 177.6
6200 156.3 184.5
6400 156.6 190.9
6600 156.4 196.5
6800 155.0 200.7
7000 152.3 203.0
7200 148.1 203.0
7400 142.9 201.4

Actually, the numbers are close until VTEC x-over. Then it just gets ugly.

Different day, different dyno, different engine. Let's not ruin this thread with politics. I think the gains are quite good. Leave it at that.

Politics? Haha. I was more interested in the fact that the dynos are so similar on teh small cam and so different on the big cam. Kind of makes you wonder what the differences would be if they dropped some S2S2 cams in.
