JRSC'ed B18C w/ auto LS tranny CRX questions...

dont ask about the auto tranny; my left leg aint doin all that good.
what all would i need other than a crx body, b18c long block, p72 auto ecu, auto ls tranny, and a jrsc + fuel management? im mainly concerned with fitment issues and if i would have to eliminate things like ac or power steering to get everything to fit good. ive got a b18b teg that i got for $4700 thats in great shape; its worth $6k or a little more with all mods taken into account (i/h/e, cat, suspension, rims+tires, stereo, minor cosmetic items, etc.) and i got an offer out of the blue for $5500 (might be able to get it up to $5700). would/should i be able to get a rustless crx with minor dents/dings, a b18c long block, ls auto tranny, p72 auto ecu, and anything else needed for under $4k (already got the m62 jrsc, need $1k set aside for possible shipping and/or installation costs, and would like $1k set aside for other mods)? my best bet would be to find a crx with a shot or super-high mileage engine and then find a b18c long block with decent mileage (~100k; i only drive around 3k a year), correct? i hope you guys can help me out with my crx/integra hybrid project im considering.
btw, what kind of quarter mile times should i expect with the jrsc running on 6 psi in a b18c crx?

just discoved a problem: how do i go about doing a manual -> automatic conversion
? what parts do i need and whats the average price of each?
so all else that i would need is engine mounts, correct? what about an ecu harness? different axles?

i would consider getting an auto crx dx, thats your best bet. if you look around, i'm sure you can find one cheap. physically, the engine will fit, but you'll needto make slightly custom mounts....auto/manual wont have same mounts on engine. you'll probably need a little more money that 5700 bucks, its gonna be a little costly. you also might wanna consider getting the tranny beefed up, or at least looking into a level 10 torque converter. engine managment-wise, it should be just like a gsr in a crx, for the most part. have you considered a turbo? supercargers on ef's with b-series are BITCHES to work on.....i hate working on them in ek's! you'd go faster with a turbo....i'd sell the jackson(do you have it already? sounds like it) and piece together a turbo.

considered turbo, but it was just too complicated for my feeble little mind. i wanted something with instantaneous kick and was just fun to throw around; im not looking for big numbers, just something to wet the whistle
. i daily drive my cars with very minimal actual racing and i definetly dont abuse them. ive found a black 90 crx hf with virtually no paint fade, rust, or body damage with a decent interior, but a 150k engine for around $1500; i can probably get a couple hundred out of the engine+tranny+ecu. ive just got an offer for my ls for $6k and i have $1k laying the bank for a rainy day. yeah, big engine in a little body will be a bitch for any jrsc maintenance, but i got plenty of time to spare for my car
. how will the mounts be different on an auto? engine mounts or mounts for the tranny? does hasport sell the engine mounts? i can get my engine, tranny, and all the other little things plopped in there for around $500 (got a friend whos a fricken honda guru
). hope ive addressed all of my concerns
. thanks for the input

All USDM B-series auto trannies (LS included) use a TCM(transmission control module) which is separate from the ECU to control shift points and grade logic functions.
Civics don't have a TCM. I don't know about the 90-93, but wiring a 94-up teg TCM into a civic is about 38 wires. I will never do it again.

the auto trans is also BIGGER than the 5 speed.....it will require some cutting..massaging.....
itd be easier to do what you want in to a DA

I second that. DA chassis are getting cheap, especially the auto ones. Plus a lot more features than the auto CRX. 4wheel disc, sunroof, REAR SEATS. Granted, it's a bit heavier, but...

a bit heavier? lol.....try 400-800 pounds heavier.....youre lucky if you have a 90 RS 2 door that weighs less than 2500 lbs.... my 4 door gs is a porker

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I'll let you know in advance, it took me two full days to make the diagrams and wire everything up, using 2 helm manuals (94 Integra and 92-95 civic). That wouldn't matter much except I already have a 4yr electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited university. I'll have to send you the diagrams when I get home. As far as the mounts go, use the top tranny mount from the teg tranny, and buy the OEM integra frame bracket from hondaautomotiveparts.com (it's about $25). You'll need to drill the spot-welds from the CRX auto mount bracket, then test fit and spot weld the teg one in place. This is all assuming the auto-B swap will fit between the EF's fenderwells without chassis modification/cutting/banging/welding. I know it will fit in an EG.
Also, all the info I have to give is based on making the DC auto tranny work in a EG/EH. If you use the DA tranny, you're on your own. Although I do have the helm TCM wiring diagrams if you need them.

Turns out to be the latter.

that would be awesome if you could get those to me at hites_05@hotmail.com
ive got the two manuals already (my brother went through about 2 hondas a year for about 4 years and weve collected quite a few). im planning on doing this during the winter when the snow falls, so ill have about 2 months to do it (got a 98 mercury mystique on reserve
). found a nice flat black 90 crx hf for $1500; looks REAL clean inside and out, but the engines gasping its last breaths (dont need it though
). what car does the dc auto tranny come from? the da auto tranny? might as well send all of the wiring diagrams i might possibly need, but make sure you label them

"DC2" is the chassis code for the 94-01 (3rd gen) integra, so the tranny would come from one of those cars. "DA_" is the 90-93 (2nd gen) integra. The 92-95 civic (5th gen) is commonly referred to as "EG", and 88-91 Civic/CRX(4th gen) as "EF".
I attempted to do the LS-auto swap into my 91 Dx-auto hatchie...I wound up becoming too frustrated with the TCM wiring and fitment issues. So I just went 5-speed. I have seen an auto LS in a DX hatchie tho, I think it was powered by an auto 90-91 ex ECU(maybe not totally sure).
This would be a very cool swap, but you're gonna run into fittement troubles with the auto tranny because it's about 2 inches longer than the manual transmissions. The 5-speed trannies have hardly any clearance from the passenger framerail as it is, so this complicates things. Your only option would be to cut/dent the frame rail....and shimming towards the drivers side isn't a doable option either.
I'm gonna rain on your parade some more and tell you that the auto trannies aren't that strong and you'll probably toast one within a few months with a S/C on it. So unless you're willing to drop $$ for a Level 10 buildup, you're gonna have reliability issues. Another thing is that the GS-R engine has clearance issues as well.
If I were you I'd do this. Look for an auto DX CRX, do a MPFI swap and add a VTEC head(mini-me). That right there is a solid 30hp. I'd suggest attempting to find a 90-91 Auto EX ECU or perhaps an Auto PM7 from an 86-89 Integra. With the right ECU to run your auto tranny stuffs you'll be surprised how "peppy" it'll be. Now on top of that you can add the JRSC kit for the D16A6(Si) with some minor modding. That'll probably set your around the 160~170whp mark is you're luck. However that'll be a 10:1 compression 1.5L with a supercharger, you're gonna have to be very careful about tuning or pop goes the weasel.
That right there sounds like a much more fun (and original) car to me. It will wind up costing you less in the long run, and most likely be more reliable. Your GS-R/Auto/superchared combo will run over $8000 I can almost guarentee it. The route I suggested will probably be 1/2 that if not less. The only expensive thing would be the JRSC. the MPFI/VTEC head/ECU combo can be done for under $500 if you find the right deals.
just my $.02

already got the jrsc. are you sure that the tranny will go in a few months of daily driving? do you mean that i should get a level 10 torque convertor or the pts kit offered by them? or both? i would rather get their performance auto tranny, but i dont think i want to spend over $3k for a tranny on a daily driven car
. ive already found a crx hf for $1500, i can probably get a b18c long block for the same price, the tranny would be around $500 off the top of my head. ill give installation of everything $1k, but it will probably be around 5-600 with the guy i know. thats around $4500-5k; ive got a $6k budget with a $7k roof. what are the hazards of modifying the frame?
forgot to add in the ecu; how about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...01775
looks like a ecu modifying service business operating through ebay.

auto P72 ecu is a JDM exclusive. The JDM B18Cauto DC2 does not use a TCM like the american integras. the P72 auto ecu has an extra plug. 4 plugs instead of 3. I was going to use one, but it's impossible to find the wiring diagrams.

Chipped P28 with a 94-95 TCM wired in. It's the cheapest option and that's what we did. Of course you'll lose control of the B18Cs secondary intake runners and the knock sensor.
A better option would be the manual P72 and a 94-95 TCM. Since the TCM controls the tranny, you can actually use a manual ECU. It actually makes me wonder if there is really any difference between the AT and MT P74/P75 LS ECUs.

No you don't understand, the JRSC just takes up too much room on the backside of the engine. You're probably gonna be beating in the firewall to make it clear. Unless your engine mounts a very sturdy, your probably gonna be bumping the firewall with it when the engine rocks back and forth anyways.
Have you swapped a b-series into an ED before? I've been swapping and driving swapped ED's for about 5 years.

its all new to me, and i have about 2 months of winter to do it all. ive heard that the hasport mounts reduce engine torqueing and thus would prevent severe rubbing of the jrsc against the firewall; is this correct, or at least somewhat correct?
