Default Clutch problem, help!!

My gsr civic that has an aftermarket clutch and pressure plate, the clutch pedal gets really soft (the aftermarket had a stiff pedal). It gets really easy and i cant get into gear it sucks....i think its air getting into the system, because if you turn the car off and pump the pedal a few times it is back to normal for a little while...i also have a bad O ring on the top of the clutch resivour, and i dont belive the cap is the right one...could this be letting air in and making the pedal spongy and stuff? Should i bleed out the whole system, get a new o ring and cap and see if that works? Thanks in advance, btw, does anyone know how much the igniton key slot and that whole piece goes for? (where you put the key in, and bolts to the steering collium, i need 2 get a new one. Thanx

You should try what you've just said about bleeding the system and replacing the gasket on the master cylinder. That could solve your problems.

no the fluid is full, but smells bad, going 2 change it today...also
Should there be a white floater disk in it?

How much will that O-ring and a new "correct" cap go for at Honda?

The white disk in the reservoir to prevent air from getting into the lines.

well it aint frigin workin, could it be the o-ring onthe top of the cap is no good? is there anywhere else air can get into the line, and is this a common thing with a aftermarket pressure plate?

ok this topic is coming back, i need help...seriously. As i said before, I am having problems with my 95 hatch with a 98 GSR swap. I have an aftermarket clutch and pressure plate (Exedy) and I have a heavy pedal. I dont mind it at all, i acually like the pressure. Anyway, reciently it depends on the time, but if I shift like 10 times, the pedal pressure is totally gone, and the clutch is always engaged...i have a bad O-ring on the top of the clutch resivour, but i pressed the clutch down without the top on and it didnt suck air down, and was still heavy. Also, i have a whistleing sound while driving, but if it "ride the clutch", and lay my foot down on it a little bit it goes away. I really need help, as this is my daily driver, and i cant afford to stop every 10 or so shifts and turn the car off and pump the clutch to make the pedal preassure return...please someone help me...im bringing it to a mechanic this week, but i would like to know what the fick is going on with my car. Thanx

ok, so i just came home from my GF's house...i cant even get off 3 shifts without it going numb, I NEED HELP PLEASE this car is my daily driver, i have 2 drive it 2 school tomorrow morning...this is not fun, please someone help me. Oh yeah, and the "whistling noise" can be compared to turning the TV on with the cable box off, a high pitched noise, but more intense...also that noise only happens when the clutch is stiff and normal, and it is coming from the right side of the car, sounds right by the firewall

i bled the line and it improved a little but still not driveable, i took it to a reputable import mechanic that has worked with swaps and such and he said that the throw out bearing is messed up and that pressue plate is to much for the master cylender. I am getting the master cylender replaced tomorrow, if that dosent fix it, i need a new clutch assembly Not fun...lots of money...i am afraid though that i may have bent a shift fork trying to get the car into gear...how can i tell?

listen to your mechanic, sounds like a throw-out bearing to me. I have zero noise coming from my clutch - riding the clutch is not a solution to live with.

yeah, ill know if its just the master cylender in like an hour or 2...probly not...also anyone have shure signs of bent shift fork?

Are the CX master cylenders known for going out with a high pressure plate?

Will an aftermarket clutch kit fix this problem? or do i need oem parts? what is a good clutch with a long life, thats not very expensive, and grips deciently...and is not going to blow up my new master cylender

Actually that's what happened with mine.... Except that sound you hear. Mine stays in gear because of my slave cylinder went bad. I replaced it and it hasn't given me any more trouble. Then again it could be what your mechanic said. Just my experience.
