You will definently see a difference, but if you have the money look for a better block.

READ THIS: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=4

We played around with the idea of a mini-me on the VX block...problem is, the VX pistons have a 7.50mm dish which would make the compression INCREDIBLY low and would counteract the gain in HP from the VTEC head...Mini-me on a VX will NOT work unless you change the pistons

Read the rest of my writeup too (all 4 pages...lots of good info) link is in the sig as well

D15B7...flat top pistons, better R/S ratio than a D16Z6...

the best mini-me setup is P29 D16A1 pistons with VX rods in a D15B7 block with a D16Z6 or D16Y8 head...

or you could simply do any D16 block with the stock rods and P29 D16A1 pistons

any time you do a mini-me....you should also do tranny to reap the benifits of vtec and the added horsepower

That is probably the best option, no reason to fish around for VX rods when they are the same length as d16 rods, plus does anyone know if the VX rods are just as strong as say the d16z6 rods.
