just wondering if i should get the new spoon header..i currently have the usdm mugen header, i was thinking about getting the mugen jdm header..but i do like the spoon.. considering that it makes power from 4,000 rpm and up..cuz every one knows our cars need that kinda power on the low end to. by the way to make thing a little less confusing i have the whole mugen i/h/e. but both headers are great in my opinion..just wanna know what you guys think...later miles
If I were you, I would get the JDM Mugen header and keep the Mugen theme goin'
I think it would better compliment your mugen intake and exhaust better then the Spoon would.

Well for me I chose the Spoon header because it is supposed to be the best All-Around header being a 4-2-1 hybrid design.
I am extremely pleased. Is it worth the $? Well for me Yes!
I also am looking for a catback exhaust. I have looked at the Mugen twinloop and also the Spoon Sports.
I would look at the mods that give the best gains. I would not care if I mixed and matched. Granted some stuff is tuned to go with other stuff but when it comes to catbacks, and we all know that there are only about 2-3 HP gains then, why not go with what you want and maybe just for sound and looks? Maybe a little of each JDM company would be cool too.
Just IMHO of course,
A.
PS again though I like Spoon

I've had both the JDM Mugen 4-1 and now the Spoon 4-2-1 (which is barely a 4-2-1 more like a 4-1 IMO). And my conclusion is that although the Mugen is a little better in build quality, the Spoon has more available power and better tonal quality. Top end power is about the same for both.
Spoon has way more mid-range power over Mugen and the peak power for both headers are close.
Big Phat R: What didn't you like about the Mugen "tonal quality"?? Did is buzz or sound raspy or something? The reason I ask, is that I haven't heard anything but complete and utter smootheness from my 4-2-1... Is this an issue with all Mugen 4-1 headers, or did you just get a bad apple (not likely)?
Spoon 421 vs Mugen 421 (Gymkhana) .... I have install them both but the result is:
Spoon still has better mid-range and the top still Spoon has more power!!!
Mugen makes good quality header but they are mainly design for 'Sport driving' = stock engine. Spoon is design for more into tuned engines no matter hard tune or light tune.
