I sold this guy a never used PnP head by DH-Racing. Didnt come with anything but the head and valve train. I was out of the country for 1 month but he had about 2 weeks time to contact me before I left. This guy is accusing me of selling him junk. I gave him free cams with cam gears, a new headgasket which he is telling me hes going to keep, valve cover, and caps which were taken from a junk car and claims there scratched up. I did more than I could possibly do for this guy. Over a month later he claims there used and not PnP and shows me pictures of a dirty head and carbon in the ports. He even tells me the valves are scratched up. WTF!!! This guy could've possibly used it and did something to it and expects me to give him his money back. What am I supposed to do? He could be sending me another head or possibly damaged the head he got from me for all I know. I'm asking all my fellow honda-tech members what I should do about this guy. Hes trying to ruin my reputation on honda-tech and I havent had a problem with anything I sold untill this guy. TIA for you input.

 

BTW, he gave me $375 and broken bumper lights and side markers for a PnP head with cams, cam gears, caps, headgasket, and valve cover. I think I gave him a hell of a deal considering the fact that I lost alot of money.

 

if its not the same head, then dont give him his money back. i hope u have some pictures of the head you sent him before hand, so you can compare them. and about stuff he wants to keep, knock off a brand new oem headgasket off the price of the refund if he wants to keep it

 

Thats the problem. When I finish selling stuff I dont save my pics because of web space. Hopefully someone had previous saved them. I wish I never deleted those.

Not that I know of. If he does send it back and its not the same head I'm sure this guy will continue to try and ruin my reputation on HT!

 

in that case its usually good that you posted up before hand. make sure to check if its the same head, if he is trying to scam you, deny him a refund and tell him if he wants the other head back to pay for shipping

 

He already posted negative replies on my perfect feedback you can see in my vouch thread. I never had a problem with anyone!

 

dont worry about him, there are always a few bad buyers that are trying to scam another person. people realize this. it sucks that buyers would want to do something like this. oh well

Those were taken about 2 months ago. I delete anything that is sold after 2 weeks period. This guy had two weeks to contact me and he didnt so I thought everything was kosher and deleted most of my forsale pics. Its already been two months since the complaint. He had the head this whole time and could've done anything to it. I dont even know its true condition at this time. 1) You gave me free cams with cam gears:

No, you did not, you said in your ad cams were included, and NO cam gears. You sent cams but no gears. (I"m not arguing, except to point out you keep changing your story)

2) Cam caps from a junk car

The head can't be used with any other caps except factory withouth $300 worth of line boring. Your add mentions nothing of this. You, again, are a scammer.

3) I never said the valves were scratched.

4) I never said I'm keeping th headgasket. I offered, if he'd take the stuff back, to just buy the headgasket for $75, which is more than its worth, but apparently Alex can't read. I made him 2 offers:

Take everything back, send me back $375, minus his shipping costs
Take everything except the headgasket back, send me $300, minus his shipping costs.

5) I told you the lights were cracked, you said include them anyway.

Yes, I sent the head back, and you received it. I did that because you said: Send it back, and I'll give you your money back.

SO I ship it, and never hear back. You could have had the courtesy to at least IM me and say: I got it, I'm looking at it.

I initially said someone, that it didn't look ported, and looked like it was painted. You told be I was wrong, so I left it alone at that. I didn't have time to work on it for a little while. I studied, I showed it to other people, and finally was 100% certain beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it was not a portred head. So I contacted you again, but you were out of the country. When you got back in town, did you IM or email me? NO.

I finally contacted you, when I noticed you were posting again.

I said I'm send it back, and waited for you to say: Yes or NO.

You said nothing, no IMs, no emails.

But you posted on the boards: "Oh, I said I refund him but he hasn't sent it"

Because you never responded!!!

So, then I finally get you to say: OK, I'll take it back.

So I ship the head to you.. I track it on UPS (BTW, for big items UPS is cheaper than priority mail by quite a bit), it says thursday it was signed for at your house. So I wait.... and wait...no IMs, no emails.

I have to contact you again, and then you tell me I scammed you and you aren't sending me any money.

EF hatch side shelves
Poly EF bushing kit

All those parts are sitting in the garage. I haven't assembled my engine because I wanted to use a PnP head, and I'm trying to get this resolved.

I haven't cheated anyone. I've never been cheated, except in this case.

All I'm asking for is whats fair. I already said: Keep the lights, and subtract the shipping costs, and just send me the remainder of the money, I thought you shipped it USPS, which cost $40. So send me $335. Thats fair.

I said if you want, send me $260 and let me keep the headgasket..thats fair.

Hell I'd be happy with anything back at this point.

Do I think I'll get anything? No, because throughout this whole incident, Alex has been a complete ***. Half the time won't respond to IM's. Every time I IM'd to say I thought there was a proble, he said No way, and I am probably trying to scam him.

I am an honest guy, Alex, whether you can believe that or not. I have been building cars, trucks, jeeps, dune buggies, etc for years. This year alone, I have sold over $2000 in Jeep parts, to pay for me getting into Hondas. Every part I've sold, I've sold for a fair price, and backed it up 100%. If anyone ever had a problem, or changed their mind, I took it back, and I ate the shipping cost. Only time I've had to do that was when someone thought something would fit, and it didn't.

In this case, You:

a) Instantly assuming you were 100% right, and I was trying to scam you
b) didn't respond with IMs or emails when I wrote you IMs, and I also sent emails and pics to the address listed in your file(a verizon address that has since been changed)
c) told me you'd give me my money back, and now won't

Where did you personally get this head? Did YOU buy it from DH-Racing or did you get it from someone else, who said it was from DH-racing?

I'm trying to be fair, I send IMs in the most level headed way I can, what I get back is:

If you were willing to take the head back, why didn't you tell me? I'm 100% honest, I am not trying to scam you. But this isn't adding up.

You are aware that you can't just take cam-caps from another head. They aren't drilled right, and require machine work. Thats why there was someone else selling a ported and polished GS-R head for liek $150 because it didn't have the caps.

And I'm serious, I spent 2 days examining the head VS my stock head.

I waited because I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, so I pulled the stock head off my LS to compare it to(it took me 2 weeks before I could pull the head).

So I pulled it all apart, and checked, and it is not a ported head.

Like I said here's my offer:

I'll ship it all back to you, you pay me the $375 back, minus whatever it cost you to ship the head to me originally. You can pay me pay-pal, if you like.

Please let me know. I'll get rid of every bad thing I have to say, if you would do this.

I'm not interested in ruining your reputation, but nothing else I tried worked, You never emailed back, you never wrote and said you'd take the head back and return my money.

And to answer a question you posted, yes, if DH-Racing sells head with no cam caps, they are junk. I am an automotive engineer in Auburn Hills michigan, working for Chysler. I have 6 years of undergrad and grad work designing cars. I know what it means to swap the cam caps off another engine.

I've done everything you asked. I sent everything back. You refuse to send me my money. You refuse to provide pictures of the 'ported' head you had. You haven't said why this isn't the head you shipped.

I'm out over $400 and have nothing for it. You don't even have the common decency that any good seller would have, to send me my stuff back, after you told me to ship it to you so you could refund my money.

Jesus Christ, do you think I'd try to actually ship you a non portred head back if you really shipped me a ported one?
