srr sway-tie bar combo
just wondering... what do u guys think of this setup? how good is SRRs quality? 205 for the combo isnt a bad price so i thought i might jump on it. jus need some feedback first
It's not a bad price, I just don't like the fact that the bar is only 19mm. The best results come from any of the 22mm bars, IMO. I've never seen this one perform, though. It could surprise me.

I agree...seems a bit small at 19mm but the way it is setup who knows how it will perform??

It's kind of wierd, instead of the bar turning at the ends to connect w/ the endlinks, there are separate links that run between the bar itself and the endlinks.... I'm not real sure if that's better or worse than a conventional swaybar setup.

yeah, no ****. What is up with SRR's colors? I have their rear LCAs. Purple LCAs and red shocks look weird together. Also, the other day I had someone comment that the LCAs looked like neons cuz their headlights were reflecting on the anodizing.
Anyway, SRR is excellent quality. Go for the 19mm bar if you don't want a tailhappy car.

yeah, I noticed that too, I'd like to know which is better...oh well, I think SRR knows what they're doing...

My 19mm Suspension Techniques sway bar in back (22 mm in front) is working just fine. The car is neutral, with just a touch of understeer. I like it, and it's proven to be a good setup (along with tokiko illuminas and standard gc's), as I've beaten more than a couple high hp, well-handling cars at the local road-race track.
A 19mm sway bar for the civics is the right amount for daily and track driven days. SRR wins a lot of races using their own products, period. I agree that the size is a little to small for we "Americans", but an extensive amount of time has gone into developing the right amount of balance for the vehicle. I tend to agree about the color choices that SRR has gone with. (cough) SRR is a great company to deal with on our end......we are currently working on development of EF, EP, and Type R suspension parts too! This may take a while, but we are going to see what we can do for everyone!
Diameter is not the only factor in how stiff or effective a sway bar is.
The total active length, the length of the lever arms, how close it mounts to the point of movement, the tensile strength of the material, and the endlink design all play a very important role.
Which is why you see bars like the progress that have very short lever arms and mount to the shock bolt instead of midway through the LCA having more effect than the same diameter ITR bar.
Honestly I don't think its a terrible design, but I don't like the dual endlink setup they have got going.
Personally I have more oversteer than I want with my 22mm bar as it is. Rotating 180 degrees and going off the track backwards has me considering getting a bigger front bar. Though a good portion of that was driver error, I would rather have neutral handling personally.

yea SRRs colors are kinda iffy but i think the sway/tie bar combo for my dc4 is black/silver. the endlinks bother me also. doesnt look too solid
