vss question ( civic 88-91 94+ gsr cluster)

Default vss question ( civic 88-91 94+ gsr cluster)

ok i have a vss from a 93 civic si (sohc tranny) and i have a 88-91 sohc tranny but it dosnt go in. im not sure what year vss i need. does the one i have need to be cut? im not sure.

im useing the electronic vss for the gsr guage cluster also any links to the wireing would be helpfull

not sure which year D series motors used electronic VSS. Are u sure the 93 vss doesnt fit? I'm kinda surprised because they're both D series motors...but for wiring, it should have 3 wires, 1 for lead (goes to ecu), 1 for ground and 1 for switched power.

Yeah im sure its from a 94 del sol si (d16z6). I know what the wires do i just want to know why it isnt fitting. What year vss do i need?


I took it off by slideing that plate out and pulling it up.

i always though it would fit...i had a GSR engine as well asthe gsr cluster swap however when i went back to stock the b series vss wouldn't fit, the motor mount gets in the way...thus is was to get a 92+ d series speed sensor being that they are all electronic.

a little plate with one 10mm bold holdong it in place loosen the bold and swing the plate out from the vss.
