Sounds like a decent alarm. How was the install?
I could use an alarm, but don't want to spend too much on one. To me thney all do the same, just hide everything.

i know that alarm, thats the code alarm tw-2. im gonna get the code alarm tw-1 which is even better than that alarm.
hey guys, 99 sound good, but once you go into buildings you lose reception and the two pager function is useless. if you want a good pager alarm system get the matrix rs3, rs3.5, viper 860xp, python 860xp, they use a strong fm signal, unlike the cheap copies that uses am signal.

dude trust me the TW-1 can go up to 2 miles, thats BULL ****, if u are on a clear feild, but if u are inside the mall or at the movies, have a firend set off your alarms, i would bet u don't get paged even beeing about 1/2 a mile away from your car, they are so over rated, the viper is ok, i have been paged inside the movies before.
Also with that ebay alarm, the only real thing u got was Built-In Starter Disable, and Alarm Zone and Trigger Indication,
WOW so easy to bypass, that alarm is wack, u didn't get any good extras, just a pager that won't page u when ur out of range, good buy
u have no glass sensor
u have no tilt sensor
u have no wireless imoblizer (spelling?)
u have no fuel cut off
no blackjax my fav anit theft THING EVER MADE(should of saved up for a cliffort)
u should look into getting a fuel cut off, becuase that kill switch isn't going to stop 2 many thives, just find where u wired it on your ingination wire, and just rip it out and rewire, about under 1 min and he is done doing that, and driving off with ur car, the 1/3 mile range is crap, like i said test it far away inside a building u won't get paged watch.

u sound like an idiot. first of all, u know nothing about the alarm and u flame on it. second, u cant spell for ****. i didnt even finish high school and i spell better than u do.
hahhahahaaha even in ur own sig. u spelled special speical.

Why do you hate on every other alarm besides the Clifford? Couldn't you just get those extra features (glass sensor, tilt sensor, etc ..) at any car stereo shop? I know you can because I just did the other week. I've tested out my pager unit on my APS_996 as well and the range is great. Sure it probably won't reach me when I'm deep inside a shopping mall a mile away, but I'm not expecting it to. Hell, I'd be lucky to even have any reception with my cell phone (T-Mobile sucks *****). My main concern is when I'm inside nearby buildings (stores, movies, the gym, etc..). I haven't had any false alarms yet and I think it was a great buy for only $150. They sell this same alarm for over $400 at a retail shop.

How do you install a glass sensor? How does the alarm no that the car was even bumper on say the rear quarter panel. Could someone point me out to a fairly cheap alarm with a window sensor, dont care about fuel cut off or anything because Im canadian and cars dont get stolen around here, just audio equipment.
Hopefully a good alarm with some things like pager, window alarm, body hit alarm
thanks

another type r guy... u must be the like the 6th type r guy in here. type r guys are up and coming into the audio/security forum. now i dont feel so lonely here.
The TW-1 and TW-2 are rebadged Audiovox Prestige Alarms (Audiovox bought Code Alarm a while back). The TW-2 is similar to the APS-995 and TW-1 is similar to the APS-996. These alarms are very good.....just as capable as any other 2-way system out there. Once again, it all comes down to the install.

I say BS to this also. Even the old analog cordless phones with worked in the 434 mhz range (same as most alarms) only ranged 300 feet or so, give or take. Unless you're using some directional antenna or something of that sort *and* increase the power beyond what FCC would allow...
Hell I have a 1 watt GMRS radio, and my friend and I could barely get a mile out of the damn things, unless he was up on the mountain-top and I was somewhere in "line-of-site", and then we could pull off decently close to the 5 mile range they claimed.
Park your car, and have someone drive @ 45 mph for a little over 2 and a half minutes and you'll be two miles away from your car. See if it works, highly doubtful.

im an authorized dealer for DEI, which owns clifford, viper, python, etc. but for some reason i chose this over all the alarms i sell. keep in mind that i sell all of the DEI brands, except for a few. so this is not a biased decision because i like one company over the other. i bought it for a reason, the reason was simply because it was better overall and had the longest range. i pretty much know about all the alarms i sell and all of them have flaws in some way, some more than others.
the 2 mile claim wasnt made by code alarm themselves. that is past FCC regulations like u said. it was made by installers and people who know about the alarm. when the alarm comes new right out of the box, it has a 800-1200m range. u move a jumper setting and it can go up to 2 miles. i didnt say for sure, depends on things between the transmitter and pager. i never said it will, i said it can go up to 2 miles.

So what's the verdict? Good or bad alarm? If they are going for that cheap I may just have to get one.
ATF Kuk: what does the best clifford alarm go for (the one with a pager and stuff). A friend of mine owns a shop and can get me it at cost but have no clue of the ballpark range.

yea looks like a good alarm, the reason i didnt buy from ebay is because i went to a few shops around the way and they only said the best is made by DEI. I have decided to just get one of those soon. with power locks on both doors, a hood sensor, hatch sensor, and all those main sensors, with install he said it would be about 380 . the whole pager alarm thing is BS, becuase if you leave your car some where and walk away, then some one comes and breaks your window and takes stuff inside, like vafc or something valuable, they can break the window, take the **** and be OUT by the time you come back running to your car. i mean it would help somewhat if you were near the car , or had lojack so that you could call them as soon as your car was gone , but with low jack damn that would be EXPENSIVE and still not be 100 % thieve-proof. best thing, get a BIG *** pit bull and leave that in your car.
