Can I Replace This Bushing? (Pic Inside)
oh so that rubber thing thats all cracked and flattened is just a boot that i can replace? all i know is it looks like *** and my suspension creaks like mad!
Yes, it's just a boot, and it's less than $10 for the part from the dealership. The only thing that sucks about it is that you have to get the ball joint out of the lower control arm / steering knuckle. If it is already making noise.. it might be too late... and you would need to replace the end link (about ~$60 for a new end link + alignment)
Its possible to replace the bushing. THe labor shouldnt take long either. I do have some brand new tie rod and control arm bushings for the integra. They are Energy suspension. Let me know. I will sell all 3 pairs for 12 shipped.
Mine has a crack in the rubber (it looks like yours does too). I just packed as much grease as possible in there and haven't had any problems since. It's been about 5,000 miles. Then again $12 isn't bad. Just make sure u dont have to have anything machine worked, i heard that you have to have those pressed, but i don't really know, it does seem like that rubber boot is attached to that tie rod though... Good luck.

It's not a bushing, it's a balljoint w/ outer boot to hold in the grease. If it's making noise you probably need to replace the balljoint, and the tie rod end with it.
And polyurethane balljoint boots are useless, you don't gain anything from it, and they actually let the grease leak out easier than a regular OEM rubber boot.

Right. I'm just saying i think the rubber boot is attached (pressed into) to the upper part (control arm/tie rod). Let me know if i'm wrong though, i seem to be going against the majority.

so i should just go to the dealership and ask for a dust boot for a tierod endlink? should i just try and grease it up or replace the entire endlink? yea it does creak, but if all it needs is some grease and a new dustboot, i'm taking the cheap way out. i hope its as easy to install as some people are saying...

what he said... i had the same problem and i had to replace the hwole tie rod because you cant just get the bushing seperate. it was like $40 at the dealership but thats with my 30% discount i get. so it might be a little more.

No, they aren't attached. I just did some Energy Suspension tie rod end bushings on my Integra. They come off very simply, and are easily replaced.
mine has been broken for a long time. probably like a year and 12,000 miles. i've been very lazy to change it out and i didn't think paying a mechanic like $100+ was worth it. i haven't noticed anything bad, but i know i should fix it.
