RSX Type R?
I have heard people say that the RSX Type R is coming to America, and i have heard some people say it's not coming. Does anyone know if the RSX Type R is coming for sure? If so when should it be here?
Thanks
David
Thanks

Id sure love to drive the new R to see comparisons from my current R. From the many best motoring videos i have, the new R has great potential and is even faster around the track over the previous model.

The old DC2 ITR has an advantage when it comes to track vagaries. It tends to be less affected by the vagaries, and it recovers more quickly when it is affected.
It's also interesting that the DC5 RSX is not doing as well as the DC2 ITR was doing in the various competition series it's involved in. Some of this is because they're still working on how to get the most out of the DC5 RSX, and some of it is residual weight advantages to other marques because everyone was afraid of Acura for all of the 1998-2002 era.
The last year that the DC2 ITR dominated the World Challenge, I had a close look at them when there was a World Challenge race at VIR Full. They had so much weight bolted to the passenger floor it looked like they were basically being forced to carry an extra human being, but they still dominated.</TD></TR></TABLE>
DC2 OWNZZ!

i think the EP3 would be the best candidate to bring over, though the Type R kicks *** and is a just a f***ing sexy car, the EP3 is better engineered.
and man i hate that AC line on the DC5s haha, it just gets all up in the way.

I doubt it will be showing up on Canadian soil. What I mean by "it" is the EP3-R. Spoke to many people at Honda stealerships across Ontario, and all have told me that there is no chance it will make its way accross the Atlantic Ocean.
In fact, most dealerships have said that there is a better chance the DC5-R will be here instead, but they are still unsure. The closest to the EP3-R will be a EP SiR (U.S. Si) with an "aggressive aesthetic skirt package from Britain), which I hope will be the CTR front bumper + lip, rear bumper + lip, and the sideskirts.

The last time I talk to the special projects and parts and contingency (for world challenge racers) contacts at American Honda in Torrance, CA, they said that they have no plans to bring the RSX-R to the US. What he did say was that honda is Probably going to place more emphasis (sales and marketing) on the Civic (EP) Performance Package (upgraded wheels, side skirts, etc...) and perhaps a performance package for the RSX too. This was the outlook for the next couple years, but after 2004, no one knows whether or not the RSX is going to have a R model available cause that was too far in the future to decide.
What they did tell me was that there will be a TSX-type S coming soon.
so I guess we'll have to stay tuned.

im suprised no one has mentioned this yet, but in the january 03 issue of car and driver, they said in their 10 best right up on the rsx, that "for those or you that miss the bansee wail of the type r, it is just over the horizon." thats not really and exact quote, but it went something like that. but other than that, i've heard more about the EP3-R than the DC5-R.

Well if we follow how we got the last type R ( dc2r), "IF" we get the DC5R it will come without brembo brakes, recaro seats, 17x7 inch rims, and Hid's. The previous type R did not have brembo's, recaros, jdm type R rims, or hid's. I think it's a rule that america must get screwed on ever nice car.

if thats the case ..then we'd just have a RSX-S without a sunroof ......maybe a body kit .....
sounds like a FP package to me
