....OT: that really old issue of SCC with the BRITISH RACING GREEN WW EF.... anyone still remeber it
I honestly looked for like freaken 1 week trying to find it on the net and in the search Archives.... came up with nothing. I came to the conclustion that it must have been talked about but sooo long ago 2years that it perged off the archives files....
I'm really interested in that car. I'd like to meet/contact that guy. His car is what made me get a EF hb after my CRX was salvaged. This is for guys that remember that Issuse of SCC.. I belive it was the MARCH issue.
anyone got picutres of his car that i can save to my computer? I have that issue and look back at it every so often to remeber why i wanted a EF hb sooooo bad. I also look at it to remeber how far along i've gotten and the knowledge that I know have compared to back then..
Sorry for remin~iss'in about the old days when rice wasn't as widespread.
Anyone who can link me to it, give me his contact info, pictures would be greatly appricated

I remember that issue. It was the first EF hatch I have ever saw a big feature on that wasn't a full out drag car. I was hyped. That was right about the time I was assembling my B16. It was also the first time I ever saw the use of forest green on a Hatch, also really clean.
I remember my inspirational magazine. It was an issue of Import Tuner I beleive from like August '98 I'll have to look I still have it in my toolbox at work. On the cover was a Yellow WW kitted LS-T CRX. The goal was to double the stock HP by tunning. They got like 300whp. That was alot 5 years ago. That was even NOTEC.

Yeah man... I used to have that issue, and I was looking for it not too long ago.... I hope someone can find it, cuz I can't. Anyway, it also had that 1.8 CRX in that issue too... Electric Blue and all.. had to be 2 years ago. Man... that car had to be like a lot of guys' inspiration, I knew that it was the sole reason I saved up for a B16A for over a year... No ZC for this boy.
My very first SCC I saw in the Fall of 1996. A kid at Ohio State gave it to me. It featured a 5th gen ex with a Vortech style centrifugal blower I can't remember if it was an early prototype or was just something someone threw together. I remember thinking how strange it was to see a shaft across the front of the engine to power the blower. I had no idea until then about engine swaps into Hondas. I wish I had know more about them when I rebuilt my first Honda junkyard special that I pieced together.

OK i have a confession to make, i am an import fanatic by way of the Fasnt and the furious. Well i saw the movie and back then i was obsessed with having a big nasty mustang and when i saw the movie and i laughed my *** off when i saw the front wheels spinning instead of the rears. So anyway i didnt think much of it and then we went to go see it again with a few other people and i stopped at the barnes and nobles on the way there to kill some time and i saw an issue of HCI on the stand and it had the orange supra on it and i was like hey! thats the car from the movie!!! so i bought it just for ***** and giggles and i just started reading tthrough it and they had a buyers guide so i went to all these websites and i was like oh man theres a ton of stuff you can do to these cars. Then i went online and started really getting into it so from then on i went through the ricer faze where i wanted 18s, a nasty kit and NOS and then i decided to look for a cleaner body kit and maybe 17s and i decided that would go turbo, i still had no real mechanical knowledge at that point. Then i got to my no body kits unless there super clean and 16 inch rims and swaps with maybe some nitrous or tubo depending on how fast i wanna go and thats where ive stayed ive just learned a whol hell of a lot more, it really has been good becuase i needed something to devote all my time to and HT has definitely given me that, thanks guys!!!
Bump Again... at least someone give us the Month/year of the issue. I'll tell ya what, I'm gonna dig through EVERYthing I've got to find that. I actually had 2 copies. There's a 5% chance I'll find it. But I'm gonna try!
Charlie;
Haven't you tried contacting the editor of SCC or Honda Tuning. You may have to ask who was the editor at the time that the issue came out. Just get the phone number from one of the issues. At the same time, since it's an old issue, note who the editor was.
Contacting "editors" isn't that hard but they almost never have the time to return a phone call. It's all a matter of catching them when they are in the office.
Another thing to do would be contact DMV and have them look it up. (I was surprised that the license plate was shown in the article!!!!) I couldn't see what state the plate was for, or even if it was a real plate. If you happen to know a police officer well, it's possible for him to do a make on the plate, although they are not supposed to do it for this sort of thing.
And by the way, I was VERY impressed with that car due to it's being done tastefully. I'm old and most (if not all) of the cars shown in the "import" car magazines are not of my taste. (that's worded to be really PC)

What was the year and month of that article? I might have it at home and would like to read it.
My inspirational article was from Car and Driver. They had a special technical section where one of the editors bought a CRX. He then prepared it for SCCA racing. Gutting, rebuild, purchasing the car. This was before I ever heard of SCC.
Here are some pics of the car:
