Default DIY crank pully tool

mods i have no idea where this should go so i stuck it here. feel free to move it if you deam it necessary
$75 for a crank pully tool!?! hell no! try $2
you need the following:
a nut that's 50mm wide (2inches) and has an ID of 27mm or larger.
a peice of flatstock of decent thinckness.
welder and some kind of saw or drill.
get you flatstock and nut, line the holes up. mark, cut/drill then weld.
viola

some real measurements

there must be at least 36mm of clearance between the top of then nut and the handel in order to clear the PS part of the crank pully on PS equipt cars. also, the handel needs to be at least 3 feet long. it takes a lot of leverage to move these bolts by hand.
ugly but it works

I made one- you can a fitting that will fit the crank pulley @ home depot and then just weld it to a 1.5" steel pipe. It isn't pretty, but it worked like a chart on a severely frozen crank pulley bolt.

we used a ebay special strut bar on mine. didnt have the crank pulley tool handy, so I noticed that the strut tower bar mount closely matched the holes in the crank pulley. put some bolts in there and the crank pulley came off like a charm!

wow, i'm sorry i deleted those pics now. for the nut, look in the phone book for any good nut/bolt store in your area. i picked that up from a place in town for $2. sorry, i don't know the actual size of that thing. just make sure you weld a long piece of pipe/whatever onto that. if you don't you won't get enough torque to take the damn thing off. the ones they use at the Honda dealer are ~3 feet long

The pics aren't working. We sure could use one here at the house.

This is the only thing stopping my bro from finishing the timing belt on his g/f 96 Accord LX V6.

If he changes the belt and water pump, we're taking her car to Daytona. If not,

Tried 2 impact guns all day yesterday
