hey at least he gave us an idea of how much all that **** weighs. the weight savings we'll have once we dump that stuff might amount to faster times at the track...

household scales are VERY inaccurate at low weights... (if you're talking about a bathroom scale)...
I wouldn't trust those numbers for the light stuff... I don't think the console weighs 5lbs by ANY stretch of the imagination.

Get on the scale, weigh yourself. Then pickup the part and weigh yourself again. Subtract your original weight, and you have what the part weighs. Simple. Not to the ounce, but close enough. I get shipping weights all the time this way. It's very close when I get to FedEx.
I way 170 pounds
What ever I weighed I stood on the scale with each individual item and subtracted my weight.
Pretty accurate.
The center console has 2 vents, 3 dials, metal braces etc etc...it weighed 5 pounds.
I only remove the passenger seat for track days so yes I have a passenger every now and then.
The car actually feels really good. Much more responsive to the road.
Few pics:
I've got a bride reclineable for my drivers seat, but that damn thing weighs the same as the stock seat.

Quote: B18C_DC2 go sell your kidneyand buy a mugen carbon fiber one.
Thats - 2 1/2 pounds for the kidney not counting the difference in the chair switch. May wanna check Goregasm.com to sell your kidney. Last time i checked 15k was goin price in china and Japan. Hmmm remeber to shave off all your body hair, an trim you nails, and take lots o x-lax a couple days before you race for more. Should be able to make simple plugs so you can remove all your lights also.

What a total waste of time. If you have to resort to removing all that **** on a daily driver, then your car is just flat out not fast enough. I know of SEVERAL civic hatchbacks with mild motor work, full interior, systems, etc that would walk all over several "race prepped" vehicles.
Gutting interior on a daily driver =

i agree, but like he said, he has no money or any prospect for money so hey... whatever helps!
but in most cases i would say invest a bit of cash into your motor to add some HP and keep the interior!!!!!
